My name is Michael Hendrik Smal (please see below for a picture of me), I was Head

prefect of my school and sporting captains for all sporting activities.

I am a passionate fast learner that is more than ambitious and beyond motivated. I am

critical, calculated and detailed. My drive to learn and grow will be more than an asset to

you and your organization. My leadership skills and ability to work in a team are

exceptionally efficient. Lastly, I am a pleasure to be around, a true people’s person and

team player.

I was involved in many positions as you will see in my CV, which has granted me a

multitude of experience to adapt to any position/circumstance with minimal effort.

I chose to include in my CV only my most dominant experiences which contribute to the

position that I am applying for.

I was the protocol Team leader at the Port Elizabeth stadium and responsible for all VIP and

VVIP during the FIFA 2010 world cup and my team and I were the best Protocol division

overall among other stadium during the competition.

I currently have 1 outstanding subject to complete my Bcom Accounting degree at NMMU

(Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University).

I was also involved in Mr Port Elizabeth 2011 where I placed 2nd

I was accepted to do my SAIPA articles at this company in January this year 2016. They are an

exceptionally dynamic firm and I have been exposed and trained to manage a host of accounting

packages and systems ranging from:

1) Pastel evolution

2) Pastel Partner online(Sage)

3) Easy file (SARS)

4) Simple pay

5) Microsoft office (Extensive use of excel formulas)

Vat submissions/reconciliations and payroll submissions are done constantly every month by

me for a range of companies. Dealing with additional factors such SDL and ETI. It is safe to

say VAT and payroll are beyond simplistic for me.

Collectively we manage 150+ clients, compiling tax returns and Annual Financial Statements

for most of our clients

I would finish my articles at DHA but I am in a situation. The reason I am applying for this Job

is because I need to buy my mother a car and the salary at DHA does not permit me to acquire

car finance.

My mother is a single parent and she put me through varsity all on her own and as a single child

I will sacrifice to get her this car.

I found employment with this Chartered Accounting firm towards the end of last year (2014).

I remained with this firm for the remainder of 2015.

My responsibilities involved extensive use of a dynamic formula orientated excel spreadsheets

for payroll and VAT calculations.

I would compile Cash receipts, Cash payments and post to the General Ledger for a host of

Companies and trusts. Furthermore, minor audits on income and expenditure declaration.

My Capabilities stretch beyond normal expectations because simply put I am practical
