Words from the prophet Isaiah in the 43rd chapter:

“Do not call to mind the former things,

We#have#been#very#busy#this#month#teaching#in#the#local#rehabilita4on#centers,#preaching#and#teaching#at#two#local#Bible#schools.#We#also#celebrated#our#39th#year#of#marriage!##During#this#month#we#saw#5#men#and#four#women,#all#recovering#addicts,#claim#Christ#as#their#savior.##As#we#celebrated#Easter#we#were#thrilled#to#know#that#these#brothers#and#sisters#were#worshipping#the#Risen#Savior#for#the#first#4me!

A"New"Direc*on!

Karen#and#I#are#beginning##a#major#transi4on#in#our#lives#and#ministry.##AKer#ten#years#of#service#in#Russia#we#have#made#the#difficult#decision#to#return#to#the#United#States#on#July#31!##While#we#will#be#leaving#Russia#this#summer,#we#are#not#leaving#ministry.##AKer#two#years#of#praying#for#the#many#addicted#in#the#United#States#and#telling#the#Lord#many#4mes,#“Someone#needs#to#do#something,”#He#has#answered#our#prayers#and#concern#by#calling#us#back#to#America#to#disciple#men#and#women#who#struggle#with#drug#addic4on!##In#October#of#this#year,#aKer#a#two#month#visit#to#the#New#England#area,#we#will#move#to#New#Castle,#Indiana,#and#in#December#we#will#open#and#direct#a#residence#home#for#recovery#and#discipleship#of#addicted#men#and#women#who#desire#true#freedom!#Our#work#with#churches#in#Russia#has#uniquely#

prepared#us#and#equipped#us#to#meet#this#challenge.

We"will"s*ll"be"missionaries!##

During#this#transi4on#we#s4ll#need#those#who#support#us#to#con4nue#that#support.##It#is#normal#for#missionaries#to#need#6#months#of#transi4onal#support.##At#the#same#4me#we#hope#that#many#of#you#will#con4nue#to#support#us#in#the#future.#Details#about#how#this#will#be#possible#will#come#in#future#newsleXers.

This#ministry#itself#will#func4on#as#a#separate,#nonZprofit#en4ty#from#the#church#and#we#will#be#responsible#for#raising#our#own#personal#support.##Just#as#if#we#were#missionaries#in#Russia,#we#will#be#seeking#likeZminded#churches#and#individuals#who#will#partner#with#us#to#both#help#us#with#our#personal#support#and#to#raise#finances#to#operate#the#discipleship#home.

We#have#loved#our#years#as#FMI#missionaries.##Serving#in#Russia#has#been#the#fulfillment#of#years#of#prayers#for#this#country.#We#have#seen#hundreds#of#people#come#to#Christ#over#the#last#ten#years#and#we#have#made#many#deep#friendships#here.#

Our#hearts#are#torn,#but#we#know#that#we#are#following#the#leading#of#the#Holy#Spirit#as#we#begin#this#new#phase#of#missionary#life.##We#covet#your#prayers#as#we#begin#this#transi4on.
