Normally the Ecomaster Comfort operates in automatic mode, that is, the climatizer itself selects the air speed,

the position of the flaps and the functioning of the rest of the components of the climatization so that itsfunctioning is optimum.

In these operating conditions, the automatic screen will be displayed indicating the outside temperature and theimage of a bus with the selected temperatures for driver and passenger systems. In addition, the two LEDslocated next to the keys (3),(15) will light up indicating automatic operation.

    Automatic screen

Nevertheless, the driver can decide to change the operation of any of the systems components at any time.

Each time the speed of the fans or the driver or passenger unit flaps are changed manually or the ECO, reheat orpre-heater functions are pressed, the manual screen will appear showing the symbols of the components whichare functioning in manual mode.

    Ecomaster Comfort

The POT system can be configured automatically or manually.

If manual configuration is chosen, it will not be possible to switch on the Ecomaster Comfort in climatization modeuntil the POT has been entered, since if this is not done, the control system does not know what it has to control.

If the POT configuration is in manual and no setting has ever been entered, when the panel is switched on, ascreen will be displayed indicating that the POT has to be programmed.

    4.1. Automatic POT.

The Ecomaster Comfort can automatically detect the first 4 heating settings shown in the previous table, in whichcase we have to connect the AutoPot input (NC1P of the passenger node, pin 6) to GND.

For it to detect the system correctly, the recirculation valves and pump must be connected directly to the CPU,i.e., with no intermediate relays and their consumption must be above the values for downloads in the connectortable of NC3 input-outputs.

When the Ecomaster Comfort performs the first AutoCheck it memorizes the components detected and takes asits POT the one which corresponds to those components according to the previous table.

If no valve is detected by the control system it will select the POT 2 configuration (only floor heating system). If upon performing an AutoCheck the control fails to detect one of these elements which it had detectedpreviously, the corresponding error is displayed. (On the Error screen you will be able to see which heatingelements are missing). This error will correct itself by connecting the loads correctly or removing and replacingthe +MCS.

If upon performing an AutoCheck new loads are detected which had not been detected in the previous one, anew POT will be selected corresponding to all the loads detected in the last AutoCheck according to the previoustable.

    4.2. Manual POT.

If we do not want the system to detect the type of heating installed automatically or if the type of heating does notcorrespond to any of those indicated in the table above, it will be sufficient to connect it to ground via pin 6 ofNC1P.

In this case we must tell the control system what type of heating is installed by selecting it on the variable POT inthe POT Selection screen (Diagnostic Menu).

The first time the System starts up, you are reminded via the screen message INSERT POT, that you mustprogram the POT in order for the system to start up.

To do this, you enter Diagnostic by simultaneously pressing keys (1),(16) + (2),(17) + (10). Once you

are in Diagnostic mode, you must go to the POT screen by pressing key (9). From this screen you select theright value by holding down key (9) while at the same time increasing or decreasing the POT value using thekeys (1), (16) and (2),(17).

NOTE:Once the POT has been selected, if the climatizer loses the battery power supply, it will not be necessaryto reset it as it is stored in the systems memory. This must be borne in mind if an Ecomaster Comfort CPU ischanged from one vehicle to another with a different heating configuration. In that case, for the system to functioncorrectly, the new vehicles heating POT must be inserted manually.

    5. Operating modes.

The Ecomaster Comfort has three different supply inputs all located on the 9-pin NC1 connector. Each of theseinputs has a specific function.

+MCS: Driver and Passenger NC1 Pos. 4 and 5.Connected to the Central Safety Control (On the battery, before the main switch). This allows the memory of the climatizer to be retained even when the main switch is off.The functions associated with the pre-heater (Switching on the pre-heater, valves and water pumps, air flap anddrivers additional heater fans) receive power from this supply.

+30: Driver and Passenger NC1 Pos. 7,8 and 9. Connected beyond the battery main switch. This permitspower supply to the fans of the driver climate unit, staircase fans, evaporator and condenser fans of thepassenger climatization unit, and the compressor and fans of the rear door heater unit.

INPUT 4: NC1 Driver Pos. 6. Connected to the alternator, it indicates whether the engine is running andthe batteries charging. When there is power to this point, the Ecomaster Comfort switches on automatically, allowing all the climatization functions to operate

An input is considered as having power if the voltage reading on the corresponding terminal is above 22VDC

Depending on the state of the supply in each of these three inputs, the Ecomaster Comfort will be in one of thesethree operating modes.

Sleeping:Power supply in +MCS but not in +30 or in the alternator input (INPUT4). The control is off andcan only perform pre-heater functions, maintain the memory and read the temperatures of the sensors. Noclimatization function is possible. You can enter the Diagnostic screen, but only those components connected to+MCS can be switched on (see tables of the functions of the connectors).

Wake-up:Power supply in +MCS and +30 but the alternator is stopped (motor stopped) so there is noinput in terminal 6 of NC1C. In these conditions the control is off, although certain driver climatization functionscan be switched on by pressing drivers key (3). Since the alternator is stopped and is not charging thebattery, the fans of the drivers Climatization Unit can only operate at minimum speed. You can enter theDiagnostic screen

Active:Power supply in +MCS, +30 and the alternator is charging the battery. The Ecomaster Comfortcan perform all the climatization functions, enter the Diagnostic menu and switch off.

    6. Diagnosis and Display.

The Diagnostic and Display menus have been designed to allow the installation and service engineer to checkthe functioning of the climatization system components after the installation of the control or during maintenanceand repair operations.

The difference between the two is that the Diagnostic Menu operates each of the control outputs separately sothat the functioning of the various components can be checked.

The Display Menu, is used to see the state of each of the elements that the Ecomaster Comfort controls, while itis operating in climatization mode, without interrupting the temperature regulation and without it being possible forany of the components to operate (by switching on or off).

    6.1. Diagnosis.

To enter Diagnosis mode, press drivers keys (1) + (2)+ (10)simultaneously for a few seconds.

To exit diagnosis mode, you simply need to press either of the two AUTO keys (6)

From this mode you can see the Driver, Passengers, Temperatures, Hard/Soft, POT Mode and Keys screens. To enter each of these you have to press the key which is shown in the diagram.
