I would like to give you a brief outline of the career you are planning to enter.

Becoming a doctor is much more than getting an MBBS Degree. It is a way of life. You help the sick and the wounded to recover as fast and as completely as possible. You educate the members of your community how to remain healthy and how to prevent diseases. Five and a half years of grueling hard work arms you with adequate knowledge and skills to diagnose and treat diseases and injuries. By relieving pain and suffering of patients, you earn their immense gratitude and goodwill.It is probably the noblest of all deeds one can do.

As a doctor, your work place may be a GP's clinic, or a hospital ward, a laboratory or an Operation theatre. You may become a research scholar or a University teacher, if you like to be one. You could be a future Medical Scientist or an innovator of repute. Scope for rise in the career is immense and sky is the limit. It is totally dependent upon your capacity to work hard, to acquire knowledge, to learn new skills and to excel in the particular field that interests you.

In order to be a successful and competent doctor, you have to develop certain essential talents. Some of these are: humility, sincerity, honesty, integrity, compassion, benevolence, patience, thirst for knowledge, capacity to work hard, good communication skills, expertise in management, leadership qualities, team spirit, respect for your teachers and above all, a resolute commitment to serve mankind willingly. You have to become a role model for others by observing clean personal habits, so that others can follow you. For example, if you a smoker, your advice to others to give up smoking will carry no weight.

In pursuance to judgement of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the case of P A Inamdar v /s State of Maharashtra

and Others 2005(6) SCC 537, absolute right is granted to private medical and dental colleges to admit students. Admission

to the First MBBS course to constituent Medical Colleges for the academic year 2015-16 will be carried out through

MGM UG CET – 2015, in accordance with the aforesaid judgement. If after the publication of this brochure, any further

legislation or judgement is made by any court of law, MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai shall abide by the

same, reserving its right to challenge and without prejudices to any rights in the aforesaid PA Inamdar's case.

Founders of MGM Trust are a group of highly dedicated and socially committed individuals. All its members are

highly qualified Engineers, Doctors and Scientists. The Trust is lead by Chairman Hon'ble Shri Kamalkishore Kadam

(M.Tech. from IIT, Mumbai), an eminent engineer, educationist and former Minister of Education, Government of

Based on the recommendations of Medical Council of India and University Grants Commission, Ministry of Human

Resources Development, Government of India, approved and accorded “Deemed to be University” status to MGM Institute

of health Sciences, Navi Mumbai, vide Notification No. F 9-21/2005-U.3(A) dated 30.8.2006. The Notification was

subsequently published in the Gazette of India on 16.09.2006. Grant of the “Deemed to be University” status was a result of

over two decades of hard work by the management and governing council of MGM Trust in the field of education. It further

increased the responsibility of the trust, which continues its untiring efforts to develop its two constituent Medical Colleges at

Navi Mumbai and Aurangabad as Centers of Excellence in Medical Education, both at undergraduate and postgraduate

At present MGMIHS runs two Medical Colleges. One at Navi Mumbai and another at Aurangabad.

All admissions to 1st year MBBS Course (except admissions of NRI/PIO/FN candidates) shall be done as per Hon'ble Supreme Court Judgement, on the basis of MGM UG CET - 2015, to be conducted by MGMIHS, Navi Mumbai.

Must be an Indian National.

Must have been born on or before 31.12.1998

Must be medically fit.

Must have passed Qualifying Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and as subjects from the board recognized

by COBSE, New Delhi with not less than 50% marks in PCB. Candidates who have appeared or are going to appear

in Qualifying Examination in March/April 2015 are also eligible, provided they produce documentary proof of having passed

the said examination with minimum 50% marks at the time of admission counseling

Candidates desirous to seek admission to MBBS course shall have to apply ONLINE in the prescribed application form to appear in MGM UG CET - 2015.

The application cum examination fee for MGM UG CET - 2015 is Rs. 4500/- (Four Thousand Five Hundred only). After 20/04/2015, application fee becomes Rs. 5500 (Five Thousand Five Hundred only).

The information Brochure and application Form will be available online from 09/03/2015 to 20/04/2015, without late fees and upto 27/04/2015 with late fees. Before filling Online Application form download information brochure of MGM UG CET - 2015 and read the same carefully. The Applicants must possess the required criteria and education qualification as mentioned in the Information Brochure of MGM UG CET - 2015.

Instructions page will be displayed. Carefully read the Instructions for filling online form. After reading Instructions, applicant has to click NEXT button to go to actual Online Application form.

Candidate should fill all the entries in application form and upload his/ her Scanned photograph and signature.

System will validate required fields before allowing him / her to submission.

Eligible Candidate will be able to submit the form. There is provision to make changes in the Application Form before Click on Submit Button. Candidate should verify the Correctness of entries made in application form. There is no provision to make changes in the application form once Submit Button is clicked.

After submission of form Bank Challan will be displayed in two parts.

Unique Application No. (Username) along with details of nonrefundable required fee will be available on challan and same details will be mailed to the Candidate on his given E-mail ID.

Candidate should take printout of Bank Challan. With this Challan pay the required fee in any Branch of State Bank of India on Second Working Day on-words, from the day of Printing Challan and obtain your copy of Challan indicating Journal ID/Transaction ID.

Candidate should login with Application No. (User Name) and his/her unique Password to download the printout of Application Form. Candidate has to preserve the downloaded printout of Application Form for subsequent use.

Applicants need not send copy of Application Form or any Document to this office.

Please note that if you commit any mistake in filling the online Application Form, it cannot be corrected by this office.The office will take no responsibility of any kind for such forms.

Selection of Preferred location of Medical College at the time of online form submission is only an indication of applicant’s choice. Final College allocation totally depends upon merit.

Candidate must submit one and only one Application form. In case more than one form is received, the candidate will be disqualified from appearing in MGM UG CET - 2015.

The Admit Cards can be downloaded from www.mgmuhs.com website after login from 02/05/2015 to 11/05/2015. (Not

Candidate has to go to Exam Centre with downloaded Admit Card and any Photo ID proof (Aadhar Card, Driving license,

PAN Card, Pass port).

Issue of Admit Card is merely an enabling document for appearing at the MGM UG CET - 2015 and does not imply that the

candidate satisfies all the requirements of eligibility conditions of admission.

CONDUCT OF MGM UG CET - 2015

DECLARATION OF PROVISIONAL RESULT/MARKS

All eligible candidates are required to take the MGM UG CET - 2015 at their own cost.

The MGM UG CET - 2015 will be conducted on Monday, 11th May 2015, Time: 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m. No entry will be permitted to the candidate in the examination hall after 10.00 a.m. for any reason whatsoever.

Exam Centers: The MGM UG CET - 2015 will be conducted at Ahmadabad, Aurangabad, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Mumbai, Noida, Nanded, Navi Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Chennai, Kochi, Panjim and Guwahati Centers subject to number of applications. Detailed address of the exam centers will be available on www.mgmuhs.com and also will be printed on the Admit Cards. MGMIHS reserves right to delete or add examination centers, if necessitated by circumstances. In case a particular examination centre is deleted, candidate of that centre will be allotted next nearest centre. No refund of examination fee is permissible in such cases.

The examination will be conducted in English Medium only.

MGM UG CET - 2015 paper will be of 3 hours duration containing 200 multiple choice questions (MCQs), out of which 50 each will pertain to Chemistry & Physics and 100 to Biology. Each question will be of single best response objective type with four answer options. Each correct response shall be awarded one mark. There shall be NO NEGATIVE MARKING for wrong answers. Candidate should completely darken one and the only one best response (oval) on the OMR answer sheet. All questions are compulsory.

Syllabus for MGM UG CET - 2015 will be same as for HSC (10+2) or equivalent examinations. It is also available on our website www.mgmuhs.com

Candidate should not use any other method for answering i.e. half circle, dot, tick mark, cross etc. This may not be read by the scanner. Answer sheet of each candidate will be evaluated by computerized scanning method only (Optical Mark Reader). There will not be any manual checking during evaluation as well as verification.

The Competent Authority shall declare the provisional result/marks scored by candidates of on MGMIHS website on or before 23/05/2015.

In case of any typographical error in result, regarding name, age, gender, category etc. should be informed to MGMIHS within 24 hours for necessary corrections if any.

VERIFICATION OF MARKS

There will be no rechecking/ revaluation of answer sheets. However the candidate can apply for verification of marks to the Competent Authority by 30/05/2015 in prescribed online form which needs to be downloaded, printed, filled and must be sent along with fees of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) to be paid by Demand Draft in favor of “MGM Institute of Health Sciences” payable at Mumbai and drawn on any nationalized/ scheduled commercial bank. The candidate will be given photocopy of the answer sheet and model answer key after verification by Speed post.

The Final merit list with ALL INDIA RANK will be generated after completing verification of marks.

The Final Merit List of the candidates will be prepared by the University in accordance to the total Marks obtained by them in the MGM UG CET - 2015 indicating their ALL INDIA rank.

In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the MGM UG CET - 2015 the inter-se merit of such candidates will be determined in the order of preference as under:

First Level : Candidate with higher marks in Biology in MGM UG CET - 2015 will be given preference.

Second Level : If the tie persists after first level, candidate with higher marks in Chemistry in MGM UG CET - 2015 will get preference.

Third Level : If tie persists after second level, candidate with higher percentage of aggregate marks in SSC (or equivalent) will get preference.

Fourth Level : If tie persists after third level also, older candidate will get preference over the younger one.

The Final Statement of Marks indicating marks obtained and merit number of the candidate will be sent by speed post / courier. The MGMIHS shall not be responsible for delay or loss of mark sheets during transit by speed post / courier.

The candidate who wants duplicate marks sheet will have to apply to MGMIHS with a payment of fee of Rs. 1000/- by D.D. drawn in favor of “MGM Institute of Health Sciences, payable at Mumbai”

MGMIHS will not intimate the individual unsuccessful candidates regarding the result of entrance test and no correspondence on this subject will be entertained.

Approved intake capacities for MBBS Course are as under:

a) MGM Medical College, Navi Mumbai : 100 ( 50 Seats subject to approval from MCI, New Delhi)

b) MGM Medical College, Aurangabad :150 Seats

Allocation of Seats:-

a) General Category: 85% of total intake capacities will be filled on the basis of merit list of MGM UG CET - 2015.

b) For students / Wards of NRI/POI/FN categories Admission will be done strictly on merit basis of XII standard Marks and / or common entrance test conducted by MGMIHS.

The Schedule and Venue of Counselling will be made available on the website i.e. www.mgmuhs.com after declaration of the result. No separate intimation regarding counselling will be sent. Therefore, all the successful candidates are directed to be in touch with the website of the MGMIHS till date of completion of the admission process.

Only candidates who have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the CET will be considered for admission.

The selection will be made as per merit cum preference of location of medical college given by the candidate.

The allotment of seats shall be made to the candidates through personal appearance as per merit list and they will be called as per schedule for Counseling.

The candidates will have the right to choose any one of the available seats at his/her rank from the general category seats only and the same will be allotted to them.

The candidate shall have to appear personally and must produce original certificates at the time of admission and TWO sets of attested photocopy of each of the document as per the list given below:

Candidates without original certificates/documents shall not be allowed to participate in the counseling at all. Candidates who have deposited their original documents with Institute /Colleges/Universities and come for counseling with a certificate stating that “their original certificate are deposited with the Institute/College/University” may be considered by the competent authority and may be allowed to participate in counseling provided that student gives an undertaking that original certificate's will be submitted before the stipulated date.

In case a candidate unable to appear due to unforeseen circumstances, authorized representative by the candidate may appear on behalf of the student with duly filled and signed authority letter of the candidate. The authorized representative as defined in the rules and regulation of MGMIHS could be only blood relatives such as mother/father/elder brother/elder sister/elder sister in law/elder brother in law.

Canvassing directly or indirectly for the allotment of seat would disqualify the candidate for admission. Influencing the staff by unfair means will lead to cancellation of allotment seat and such candidate will also face disqualification for appearance in the subsequent MGM UG CET.

Candidate selected for admission shall be subject to disciplinary rules of the MGMIHS Institution.

A candidate selected will not be allowed for change of college / Institute on mutual basis.

In case of dispute In the matter of allotment of institution or any other matter pertaining to the provisional selection or cancellation of admission. The decision of the MGMIHS shall be final and binding.

After selection in first / subsequent rounds if the candidate desires to retain the same College and does not want to take any further betterment than he/she can do so by filing “Status Retention Form” in a prescribed Performa. Status Retention Form is to be submitted to the MGMIHS through the College where he/she is admitted. However candidates should note that his/her name would be deleted for the further selection process for the academic year 2015-16.

To confirm the admission, the candidate shall have to deposit his/her tuition fee together with all relevant original certificates, documents on day of counseling.

The candidate who does not appear on the date of counseling or reject the available seats at their rank as per their preference or do not join the college by the prescribed date for joining mentioned in the selection letter shall forfeit the claim for a seat at constituent colleges of MGMIHS. The vacant seat will be filled by the next students as per the merit order.

The University authority will issue notification which will be displayed on the website of University as well as on the notice boards of the constituent colleges indicating the dates of second round of counseling process if the seats remain vacant.

There will not be any separate communication to the students for subsequent selection process.

The vacant seats if any will be filled as per the merit list of MGM UG CET - 2015 amongst the students who have not been selected in the first round of counseling. The candidate selected in first round will be considered for betterment in the subsequent selection process provided they have not submitted Status Retention Form. “Betterment” means the higher preference exercised by the candidate. The shift in such betterment shall be compulsory and mandatory.

If the candidate offered admission as per his/her preferences refuse to accept admission then he/ she will not be considered for next round of counseling.

The following candidates will not be held eligible for subsequent admission process:

Accepting admission but not reporting to the College and / or not paying the fees in prescribed time.

Reporting to the college but not attending the college regularly.

Paying the fees but not attending the college.

If the admission given by the Deemed University is cancelled by the Dean as a disciplinary action.

Candidate absent in the earlier round of Counseling is not eligible for subsequent rounds of admission.

The candidate applying for admission to First MBBS Course in the Constituent Medical Colleges are required to make payment by way of Demand draft in favour of 'MGM Institute of Health Sciences' drawn on any Nationalized /Scheduled Bank, payable at Mumbai. Please ensure that the name of the applicant and the application number is written on the backside of Demand Draft. DD should be crossed and A/c Payee only.

Tuition Fee does not include University Fee, Hostel Fee and such other fees. These will be charged extra.

Fee is required to be paid at the time of admission / counseling. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the seat, as well as any fees already paid.

Fees for subsequent years are required to be paid before the commencement of the academic year irrespective of the academic progress of the student.

NRI / FN category of students are required to remit fee in US Dollars, by crossed Demand Drafts A/c. Payee only.

RULES FOR REFUND OF FEES

A candidate may cancel his / her admission by submitting an application to the concerned Dean stating reason for cancellation.

Candidate cancelling his / her admission after 15th September, 2015 will not be eligible to appear in MGM UG CET for subsequent two years.

A refund claim may be admitted on merits after due consideration of the request through the Dean of respective Medical College in accordance to the regulations prescribed for the purpose by the University.

No candidate will be allowed to take back their original certificates for any reason. If for some purpose the applicant insists on taking the original certificates for a period, he / she will have to pay the tuition fees of the remaining years in advance.

Security Deposit is refundable after the completion of the course or at the time of candidates leaving the course for any other reason.

In the event of a student / candidate withdrawing before the starting of the course, the waitlisted candidates will be given admission against the vacant seat. The entire fee college from the student, after deduction of processing fee of not more than Rs. 1,000.00 (Rupees One Thousand Only) shall be refunded by the Institute/ University to the student / candidate withdrawing from the programme.

If a student leaves after joining the course and if the seat consequently falling vacant has been filled by another candidate by the last date of admission, the Institution will refund the fees collected with proportionate deduction of monthly fee and appropriate hostel rent etc. wherever applicable.

If the candidate residing in the hostel, withdrawing admission after commencement of the course, the institution shall deduct one term fee for the hostel and mess.

If the candidate withdrawing admission after cut of date i.e. 15.09.2015, then no refund is permissible and candidate shall have to pay the entire tuition fee for total duration of the course.

The fees paid other than above shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

Registration & Eligibility Fee are not refundable under any circumstances.

Important : If a candidate, admitted to MBBS Course leaves the course at any time on or after 15th September, 2015 for any reasons shall be required to pay the full amount of tuition fees for the remaining entire duration of MBBS Course.

If any candidate or his/her authorized representative or accompanying person is found obstructing the admission process or act in unlawful manner / creating nuisance, the candidate shall be liable for disqualification from the process of selection. The decision taken by the University in this respect shall be final and binding.

All candidates selected shall be subject to the disciplinary rules of the institution and University.

Any difference of opinion and disputes arising while interpreting and implementation of the clauses in this brochure, if any, shall be referred to Registrar, MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai.

As per the Hon’ble Supreme Court and MCI, candidate selected for MBBS course and his/her parents will be required to execute an Undertaking for Anti Ragging in the prescribed format.

Any legal dispute arising out of conduct of examination, admission procedure and refund of fees in respect of MGM UG CET - 2015 shall be under jurisdiction of Navi Mumbai and High Court of Bombay, Mumbai Bench, with advance legal notice of one month to MGM Institute of Health Sciences.

Candidate must preserve Admit card safely & bring to the examination hall and produce the same on demand by the examination staff with Photo ID proof.

Candidate should be present in the examination hall at least thirty minutes before the examination begins.

All details like Roll number, question booklet number & version code must be entered carefully on the answer sheet and the question booklet.

No candidate will be allowed to leave the exam hall during the exam hrs.

All entries on answer sheet must be made only with Black ball pen.

Use recent 3.5 x 4.5 cm Photographs only. Photographs on application form, Authority letter or any other document of MGM UG CET - 2015 should be taken from the same negative.

RAGGING : PREVENTION & PUNISHMENT

As per Committee constituted by the Hon'ble Supreme Court, India in SLP No. 24295 of 2006)Ragging has been recognized as a criminal offence, hence would be very seriously taken at constituent units of MGM Institute of Health Sciences. The students alleged by the juniors for ragging, shall have to abide by the punishment as per the recommendations of Anti Ragging Committee / guidelines of Anti Ratting Act prescribed by the committee constituted by the Hon'ble Supreme court, India in SLP No. 24295 of 2006. Broadly ragging has been defined and categorized in the following way for which various terms of punishment prescribed as per the directions of Hon'ble Supreme Court in SLP No. 24295 of 2006 ranging from one year imprisonment and fine upto 7 years rigorous imprisonment and fine.Following shall be treated as Act of Ragging :

1. Verbal – Where senior causes mental harassment, discomfort for the junior by forcing him / her to answer unacceptable / personal questions, forcing to dance or to indulge in other embarrassing actions. It is also includes within its ambit cyber ragging.Punishment : 1 year imprisonment or fine or both.

2. Severe Verbal Ragging – Where the mental harassment, discomfort is to such an act as forces the junior to withdraw from the college.Punishment : “07 years imprisonment with fine.

3. Physical – Any act by the senior towards the junior which inflicts bodily injury on the junior like beating the junior, hitting him / her with objects etc.Punishment : 07 years imprisonment with fine.

4. Sexual Ragging – where the senior asks the junior to do an act which damages sexual dignity of the junior.Punishment : 07 years imprisonment with fine.

As enactment of anti ragging act is pending in IPC, an Institutional Authority has been set up in MGMIHS with full authority to deal with ragging cases. Following are some of the guidelines for information to junior students to remembers in case, they are subjected to any act of ragging.

The complainant can report orally or in writing to the Dean, Head of the Department or any teacher or non-teaching staff of the Institution or to the members of Anti Ragging Committee.

Any act or ragging that has been witnessed by teacher, non teaching staff or the administrative staff, shall be treated as evidence and will be considered enough to initiate appropriate action against the culprits.

Following action shall be taken for the trial of alleged culprits:-

a. On receipt of complaint, the culprits shall be suspended from College or hostel forthwith.

b. Institutional Enquiry will follow and submit report within 24 hours with recommendation for punishment.

c. Written complaints to the police and FIR will be lodged.

d. Expulsion from the College.

e. Endorsement of remarks in College Leaving Certificate / Migration Certificate.

All students are requested to join the Institutional Authorities for prevention and monitoring of ragging cases.

All cases of ragging are dealt on a fast track basis within specific time-frame.

There will be periodic review of the instruments and mechanism laid down by the University and Medical Colleges in order to plug the loopholes and find other solutions, if necessary.
