It is Christmas Season again. The most power-ful message of Christmas is unearthly and supernatural, it intersects the human and the divine, it bridges the great divide between God and man, and it brings us to the very edge that separates the OT and the NT. –

(Luke 1:67-80)

Zechariah uses one key word in this prophecy. Vs 68 says, “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people.” Vs 78 says “the rising sun will come to us from heaven.” The root word is, “to visit personally.” Jesus used the same word in Matthew 25:36 when he said, “I was sick and you visited me.” This word has the idea of seeing someone in distress and intervening personally in order to relieve their misery. To “visit” means to be so moved by the misery you see all around you that you get personally involved in providing a solution.

God did what He promised to do. The prophets saw it coming and knew the day would come when God would visit His people.

He came on Christmas day and has never left us. He is here today and moving among us through the Presence and the Power of the Holy Spirit.

He is relevant in every area and season of your life.

• Reach out and ask Him to touch you this season in an immeasurable way;

• Reach out and introduce Him to someone this season who has never known Him, as God who is among us today.

There is no need for you to search for Him any more. He has come. He is here.

He is “Emmanuel”, God with us. (Matthew 1:23)

2. He has raised up a horn of salvation.“He has raised up a horn of salvation for us.” Vs 69

3. He has come to save us from our enemies. “Salvation from our enemies.” Vs 71. "To rescue us from the hand of our enemies.” Vs 74

4. He has come to forgive our sins. “To give His people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins.” Vs 77
