WITH 40 NEW VEHICLES BEING UNVEILED, THE 2016 CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL AUTOSHOW IS CANADA’S SOURCE FOR ALL OF THE NEW AND HOT CARS AND TRUCKS THAT WILL BE HITTING SHOWROOM FLOORS. AMONG THE CARS AND TRUCKS MAKING THEIR DEBUT AT THE METRO TORONTO CONVENTION CENTRE ARE:

2017 AUDI R8 5.2

GENESIS G90

2017 JAGUAR F-PACE

2016 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE DUNE

TOP CONCEPT VEHICLES CATER TO URBAN DWELLERS AND THE ENVIRONMENT

2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA

2017 FORD F-150 RAPTOR SUPERCREW

Faster, more efficient, and more capable both on and off the racetrack, the all-new 2017 R8 is the most powerful Audi production model ever. The R8, with its breathtaking performance, high-revving naturally aspirated motor, precise handling and driver-focused interior, embodies the automotive distinction that has become synonymous with the four rings. Featuring the same naturally-aspirated V10 engine found in the R8 LMS racecar, a completely new application of quattro® all-wheel drive, and a more functional yet technologically advanced cabin, the R8 is the pinnacle of performance for Audi, with no other model bearing a closer tie to racing.

The final piece brings to life the company’s new luxury division, named Genesis. Hyundai announced in late 2015 that it will separate its luxury vehicles from its mainstream models to better compete head-to-head against the world’s best luxury brands from Europe and Japan. The first of six Genesis luxury vehicles set to launch by 2021 is making a debut at the Canadian International Auto Show. The Genesis G90 will take its place as the full-size, luxury flagship sedan under Canada’s newest automotive brand and set the tone for all future Genesis models.

The all-new 2017 Jaguar F-PACE is a medium luxury SUV designed and engineered to offer the agility, responsiveness and refinement that Jaguar cars are renowned for, together with the exceptional dynamics and everyday versatility of an SUV. As the first-ever SUV from the Jaguar brand, the F-PACE has been designed to deliver the same dynamic driving experience Jaguar owners have come to expect, while building on the cargo-carrying and versatility SUV owners demand.

The future is always in question, but the 2016 Canadian International AutoShow provides a look at what car designers and manufacturers have in mind for the vehicles that will be hitting our streets in the coming years.

A total of 11 concept vehicles will make their Canadian debut on the show floor at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre during the 2016 AutoShow. Among the concept cars and trucks will be:

TOYOTA U2

Toyota’s Urban Utility (U squared) concept vehicle is perfectly suited for today’s creative class. Making its global auto show debut in Toronto, the U2 boasts retracting roof panels and a uniquely configurable rail system for carting around all the needs of the mobile entrepreneurs and Makers. Toyota’s designers have created a masterful concept that truly embodies the spirit of today’s Maker from the inside out.

HYUNDAI ENDUROA subcompact SUV making its North American Debut in Toronto, the Enduro Is inspired by the endurance shown during the world’s toughest motorcycle rally events. A new interpretation of Hyundai’s signature design, the effect is the look of a crossover vehicle with raised ground clearance and SUV-style cladding yet sleek sheet metal with aerodynamic air-blades on the pillars give the concept a sporty-yet-tough appearance.

HYUNDAI SANTA CRUZ CROSSOVER TRUCKThe Santa Cruz Crossover Truck Concept is a new look at a truck that would appeal to a growing group of Millennial buyers living in an urban environment. With compact dimensions, an extendable tailgate, rear-hinged rear doors, all-wheel drive, and seating for five, the Santa Cruz combines the benefits of a Crossover Utility Vehicle with the versatility of a truck.

AUDI H-TRONHigh range, swift refueling, sporty road performance: The Audi h-tron quattro concept car can boast all these virtues. It combines a highly efficient fuel cell achieving an output of up to 110 kW with a powerful battery that can provide a temporary boost of 100 kW. The car can be fully refueled with hydrogen in around four minutes, and is then ready to drive for up to 600 kilometers. This vehicle will only be at the AutoShow on Media Preview Day, February 11.

The 2016 Beetle Dune coupe will arrive this spring and makes its Canadian debut at this year’s Canadian International AutoShow. Inspired by the classic Baja Bugs, the Beetle Dune has a bold new look thanks to the fitment of new front and rear fascias and pronounced black wheel arch extensions that flow into the bumpers. Additionally, the Dune’s raised ride height of 10 mm and a body track that is 14 mm wider give it a more rugged stance.

As the creator of the minivan more than 30 years ago, Chrysler will again transform the segment with the all-new, Windsor, Ontario-built 2017 Pacifica. Making its Canadian debut at the 2016 Canadian International AutoShow, Pacifica brings nearly 40 new minivan-first features and unprecedented levels of functionality, versatility and technology.

Ford is introducing the all-new 2017 F-150 Raptor SuperCrew, adding agility, versatility and roominess to the toughest, smartest, most capable F-150 Raptor ever. Still unmatched, the all-new Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew is North America’s favourite high performance off-road pickup truck and is the newest addition to our Ford performance line-up. The all-new F-150 Raptor starts with a purpose-built fully boxed frame – the backbone of the truck – that is the strongest in the F-150 lineup, featuring more high-strength steel than the outgoing Raptor.

Other manufacturers will also be unveiling vehicles, including one that is debuting at its first ever AutoShow and a manufacturer with a very exciting North American debut. All of the vehicles will be revealed during the Media Day tour on February 11th. Members of the public will be able to get their first chance to see them up close starting February 12th. Some of the debuts and unveils on tap for the AutoShow include:
