● PNRA was Established in 2001
● It was facing problems of:
• Shortage of manpower
• Ageing of existing manpower
• Lack of structured training program
IntroductionIntroduction
● In 2002, it established a QM&ET unit
(To recruit and train Regulatory Staff)
● In 2004, it was transformed into HRD
● It adopted two pronged approach for
recruitment:
� Fast track direct recruitment drive
� Recruitment through fellowship scheme

● vacancies are advertised in the press,
entrance exam/interview are held (final
selection)
● six (6) recruitment drives conducted
(a total of 169 officers were recruited including 98 engineers, 64 scientists and 7 IT officers)

● PNRA signed MOU with PIEAS & KINPOE
● it sponsors graduates in the M.S Programs
● Recruited a total of 46 officers including 25
nuclear engineers, 13 medical physicists, 2
system engineers & 6 power engineers

● In 2003-04, PNRA performed TNA based on the IAEA four quadrant competency model (TECDOC-1254)
● This identified training modules for junior, intermediate and senior level regulatory staff
● Total 52 training courses were identified
