1. Just as we need food for development,growth and well being plants also require nutrients for growth

2. There are sixteen nutrients which are essential for plant .

3. Air supplies carbon and oxygen ,hydrogen comes for water and soil supplies the other thirteen to plants.

2. Mixed cropping is growing two or more crops simultaneously on the same piece of land ,for example, wheat + gram ,or wheat +mustard.

Suitable place and Nature of Soil1. Weed control methods also

include mechanical removal.2. Preventive methods such as

proper seed bed preparation, timely sowing of crops, intercropping and crop rotation also help in weed control.

3. Some other preventive measures against pests are the use of resistant varieties, and summer ploughing, in which field are ploughed deep in summers to destroy weeds and pests.

Improvement of crops

1. A fertile land contains all the nutrients necessary for a crop to grow. Since plants utilize these nutrients to grow the amount of the nutrients in the soil goes on decreasing and the fertility of the is reduced . If the nutrients in the soil are not replenished timely a fertile land would become infertile in the long run.

Fallow field and crop rotationsFallow field -1. it is the process in which after the harvesting of crops field are kept uncultivated for one or one or more season . During this period the land regains its lost nutrients and becomes fertile again for the cultivation of next crop.2.
