It works in acidic, neutral, and alkaline media and is an environmentally safe product, exhibit- ing very low toxicity towards aquatic organisms, bacteria, and humans. It will not release toxic gases, such as hydrogen sulfide, or flammable, toxic products, such as carbon disulfide, even at pH values less than 1. In addition sludge volume production is frequently reduced.

PAINT DETACKIFIER

Chemetall Oakite, Berkeley Heights, N.J Gardofloc 2000 is a paint detackifier that aids in the removal of paint overspray in water-wash paint spray booths so it won’t stick to the pump, exhaust fans, booth, or other equipment. The polymeric, liquid additive reacts with paint over- spray collected in water-wash booths, producing a dry, nontacky sludge that can be easily removed manually, with cyclonic extractors or other con- ventional sludge-removal equipment. The prod- uct helps end-users reduce costs associated with excess manual labor to clean out paint buildup, routine booth maintenance, and excessive down- time due to related problems. Compared to previ- ous technologies, Gardofloc 2000 is used at lower concentrations and is much more effective. The solution’s specially formulated chemistry also reacts to and detackifies a wide variety of paints including water-base and high-solids.
