ADVANTAGES OF EVA AIR INSULATED METAL ENCLOSED SWITCHGEARS

METAL ENCLOSED SWITCHGEARS

EVA Air Insulated Metal Enclosed Switchgears are medium

voltage switchgear equipment used for reliable distribution of

electricity in 36 kV secondary distribution systems according

to the customer’s different requirements. EVA Air Insulated

Metal Enclosed Switchgears are highly suitable for use in indoor

environments, industrial production facilities and compact type

substation buildings. Thanks to modular construction for easy

installation, EVA Air Insulated Metal Enclosed Switchgears can

easily meet all the requirements of clients; they can be quickly

installed. In these cells, the output busbars are air insulated and

the electrical insulation and breaking operations are performed

in SF6 gas environment. In this way, a maximum safety operation

can be achieved in minimum distances. EVA Air Insulated Metal

Enclosed Switchgears are also preferred by customers in kiosk

type transformer substations with their reliable construction

and compact dimensions.’

QUALITY MANAGEMENT AND STANDARDS

EVA Air Insulated Metal Enclosed Switchgears are produced according to IEC 62271-200, 60265, 60129, 60694, 62271-

100, 62271-102, 62271-105 standards.

The quality of EVA Air Insulated Metal Enclosed Switchgears are also certified in international accredited laboratories.

***EVA Air Insulated Metal Enclosed Switchgears are manufactured by applying an integrated quality

management system. in all departments of our production facility At each stage of production, it is checked

whether EVA Air Insulated Metal Enclosed Switchgears are produced according to the relevant standards and

customer requirements or not. Also related documents and test reports are recorded in terms of traceability.

STRUCTURAL FEATURESSTRUCTURAL PARTS AND SWITCHING DEVICES

3

EVA Air Insulated Metal Enclosed Switchgears are made up of four main compartments separated by a metal partition:

1. Busbar connection compartments

2. Switching and cable connection compartments

3. Mechanism compartments

4. Low voltage compartments Access to this compartment is provided from the

closure on the cell. Side-by-side installation of EVA

Air Insulated Metal Enclosed Switchgears is carried

out through three busbars located in this section.

This compartment consists of switching elements

such as switch disconnector, disconnector, circuit

breaker and earthing switch according to the

customer’s request. If the cell is a fuse-load break

switch combination, then the pin mechanism and

MV fuses are also in this compartment. The electrical

cabling from the network is connected to the cell at

the connection points below the earthing switch in

this section.

With the help of the sheet metal partitions between

the bar connection part and the cable connection

part, disconnector with the epoxy body or the load

break switch is securely separated from the bus

bar. The earthing switch must be closed in the

ground position so that the cable connection can

be reached safely from the front.

2. SWITCHING AND CABLE CONNECTION COMPARTMENT

www.evaelektromekanik.com8

BATEL SF6 insulated load break switches provide

“switching-disconnecting” characteristics. LBS

main circuit contacts are housed in an epoxy cast

housing that is filled with 1.5 bar SF6 gas and

guaranteed for a lifetime of gas tightness.

The main circuit contacts can be found in only one

of the two positions “On” and “Off”.

The earthing switch is located outside the

epoxy body and earthing switch position can be

monitored directly, safely and reliably by the user.

There is a mechanical locking mechanism that

ensures safe operation between the earthing switch and the main circuit contacts. The explosion-proof reliability of

the gas-filled epoxy seal is provided by the safety membrane at the rear.

There are auxiliary contact options that indicate the positions of the main circuit contacts and the earthing switch.

The control mechanism can be set by hand or by motor when required by using the lever. The installed mechanism

has accumulated energy for closing and opening. Closing and opening operations can be done with pushbuttons or

remote coils. If required, a protective fuse throwing pin and opening system can be applied.

BATEL SF6 gas insulated circuit breakers provide

high reliability with applied SF6 gas arc breaking

technique. With these features, BATEL SF6 gas

insulated circuit breakers guarantee the continuity

of energy in electric distribution systems.

Epoxy-insulated 3 pole housings are filled with

SF6 gas and their sealings are guaranteed for a

lifetime. The explosion-proof reliability of gas-filled

pole epoxy housings is provided by the safety

membrane on the bottom cover.

The control mechanism can be set by hand or

by motor when required by using the lever.

The installed mechanism has accumulated energy for closing and opening. Closing and opening can be done with

pushbutton or remote coil. BGK type circuit breakers have front and side mechanism options.

4NO + 4 NC or 6NO + 6 NC auxiliary contact options are available for OPEN and CLOSED positions.

In this compartment, there are mechanisms of

switching elements such as load break switch,

disconnector, circuit breaker and earthing switch.

According to the customer’s request motor or

earthing disconnector can be added to this section.

This compartment contains the LV fuses, protection relays, measuring instruments and connection terminals.

4. LOW VOLTAGE COMPARTMENT

INTERLOCKING SYTEM

EARTHING SYSTEM

EVA Air Insulated Metal Enclosed Switchgears provide maximum safety of operation thanks to the following interlocking

mechanisms:

1. The load break switch can not be closed when the cell door is open.

2. Only when the earthing switch is off, the cell door can be opened.

3. The load break switch can be closed only when the earting switch is opened and the cell door is closed.

4. The earthing switch can only be closed when the load break switch is opened.

5. According to the customer’s request, it is possible to put an earthing lock on the cell. With this interlocking, closing

on to energized cable, which leads to a three phase short circuit current, will be prevented .

Switching elements such as earth conductors of energy cables, blades of earting switch, breaker, disconnector, load

break switch and shunt of current and voltage transformers, metal parts of cell parts firstly connect to each other and

then to the main earthing busbar located at the front of the cell. This ensures safe grounding of the system.

STRUCTURAL FEATURESSTRUCTURAL PARTS

SYSTEM FEATURES

EVA Monoblock Concrete Transformer and Distribution Substations consist of three main sections separated from

each other:

1. Medium voltage switching equipment section

2. Medium voltage distribution transformer section

3. Low voltage distribution panel section

11 2 3

The main bodies of the EVA Monoblock Concrete Transformer and Distribution Substations are designed by taking into consideration the most difficult conditions in the operation and making the corresponding strength and seismic calculations. The safety distances required for each part are determined according to the information received from the manufacturers of the products such as transformers and LV panels and specified distance values in relevant specifications. When producing concrete substations, IEC 60529 standard is taken into consideration in terms of access to the sections under energy and resistance to dust and water in moving parts. C 35 quality cement according to TS 500 standard is used in the production of concrete substations. Concrete substations are water-resistant. The ventilation panels on the walls of the substation are manufactured in accordance with the IP 23 protection class. EVA Monoblok Concrete Transformer and Distribution Substations can be carried safely thanks to the lifting irons at four corners. From the attenuated cable entry sections at the bottom of the body, the desired number of cables can safely enter and exit the substation. The parts of the substation that are under the floor are insulated.Ventilation panels and doors are manufactured to withstand stroke, which can occur from inside and outside. The doors are designed for easy operation of the operating personnel. The switchgear, compartments, doors, ventilation panels, fittings and all metal parts in the concrete substation are connected to the earthing busbar.
