Message from the EastBrothers,

Traditionally, April is when we honor our 50-year members with a dinner and presentation of pins. Unfortunately this year, none of the Brothers who have attained this level of distinction are able to attend. While we may not be able to say it to them in Lodge, at this point I would like to congratulate all of them on behalf of the Brothers of Ansantawae Lodge and invite them to visit us in Lodge soon.

Because of this, our first meeting in April (Friday April 1st) will be a Business Meeting followed by a visit from MWB Gary Arsenau and his Masonic Jeopardy game. All Brothers are welcome to come down and either show your Masonic knowledge or sit back and enjoy from the sidelines what should be an entertaining show. We will have refreshments following.

April is also when our Grand Lodge holds its Annual Communication. The 227th Annual Communication of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge AF&AM of the State of Connecticut will be held on Monday, April 11th at the Radisson Hotel in Cromwell. Immediately following will be the installation of MW Gail M. Smith and his suite of Officers for the ensuing year. We are fortunate to have our current District Deputy, RW James Anderson, staying with Ansantawae for another year.

On Friday April 15th, we will be conferring the Entered Apprentice degree on a class of 5 Candidates. JW Mark Wasserman will be in the East. After dropping off you tax returns, please come down to Lodge and support Bro. Mark and also show the 5 new EA’s how fortunate they are to have joined one of the finest Lodges in the state.

On Saturday April 30th at 2pm we will be having a Homecoming in honor of WB David Eisenman who has been appointed to the office of District Deputy for the ensuing year as well as honoring his Associate Grand Marshall, WB Greg Manley. The hard work and dedication these Brothers have given to Masonry is justly rewarded in their receiving this honor. I would like to congratulate WB Dave & WB Greg in advance of their installation and wish them a very successful year.

Lastly, I would like to thank all of the Brothers and families who came out and marched with us for Milford’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The weather was fantastic and a good time was had by all.

I hope to see you all in Lodge!

Ansantawae Lodge Secretary’s Corner

Brothers our first meeting in April is normally our dinner to celebrate with our 50 year members. But this year the brothers turning 50 year of membership are unable to be with us. So we will be having another program being set up by the W.M. and Officers of the lodge.

A new beginning of spring in the year and the hope that this past winters snow and ice is off your lawns and gardens giving us a chance to get out and enjoy the warmth of a soon to come summer.

We will be putting an order of bricks for our Walk Way of Honor soon so if any one is interested in having their name or a name of a loved one added please let me know.

Cost is $85.00 a brick, forms can be mailed to you or e-mailed just contact me at 203-877-7861 or e-mail at tweedji@earthlink.net and I will see you get a form.

I would like to thank the several brothers who have made a donation to the lodge in a life insurance police but they asked to be kept anonymous and the number of member’s widows who have made generous donation to the lodge over the last several years. But they too would like it kept anonymous. If it was not for their kindness, well who knows where our building would be.
