2015-2016 ANNUAL REPORT
Miami Children’s Museum has welcomed nearly five million visitors since it opened on Watson Island in 2003 and continues to provide children in our community with the school readiness and life skills they need for a successful future. Year after year the Museum serves more children and families while maintaining its fiscal health through diverse revenue streams and sound financial planning. This proven formula has paved the way to a bright future as we are well on our way in executing our master plan.
We have unveiled two state of the art galleries that will help the next generation lead healthy and active lifestyles, the Baptist Children’s Hospital Health & Wellness Center and the Publix Super Market. In the year ahead, Bank of America, the music gallery and our toddler space, Sea and Me, will also be renovated to meet the growing needs of our community.
All of the Museum’s accomplishments would not be possible without the support of our guests, board, donors, volunteers and staff. If you have not visited the Museum recently, we invite you to do so soon to see the work we have done in this last year. There is still so much to do and so many ways that you can help. We look forward to working together in the coming year to find new ways to expand our partnerships and programs in order to continue to grow the number of children we serve in the Museum and in the community.
Sincerely,
Jeff Berkowitz Deborah SpiegelmanChairman of the Board of Directors CEO/Executive Director
