Message from BOG Chairman
Dr. Arun V. Bapat Seismologist and Former Head Earthquake Engineering Research, CWPRS, Pune.
Message
It gives me great pleasure to write a message for Annual Report of LNJPIT, Chapra. The Annual
Report is expected to summarise in short about the achievements and lacuna, including mistakes
and failures to some extent. The college is spread over an extensive area with some important
Departments. Incidentally, I had the occasion to witness the changes and order of significance of
various departments. During these years, the Civil Engineering Department was number one,
subsequently with industrialization, the Mechanical department came in the front, which was
then followed by Electrical and Electronics Department, then Computer Science Engineering
Department.
I am happy to say that our Chapra College had been keeping pace with all these developments and
accordingly improving the functioning of all departments. As the development progressed the
methods of teaching have also been changing. We have an excellent connectivity and various web
sites are easily accessible to students. Our students have been showing excellent performance in
studies, arranging conferences on hackathon etc. We wanted to arrange a Conference of National
Level but the pandemic COVID19 has come in way and blocked it. In addition, and also as per the
directions of TEQIP we had organised several trainings on understanding the topic, use of
mathematics and statistics including Fuzzy Set Theory for routine research related problems was
initiated, but it is yet to reach a matured stage. Training for GATE and other entrance examinations
has been quite good. Teaching of English as communication language has given some results but
still not up to exceptions.
There was some setback to the very functioning of college activities due to the General Elections
of 2019. One entire building and few rooms were taken over by the Election Commission. As such
access to laboratory and other equipment was restricted and had caused some delay in achieving
the desired pre declared dates/s of completion. We were hoping to overcome the difficulties in
the next year, but the Corona pandemic has become a big problem, which at present appears to be
insurmountable.
With best wishes!!!

Message
Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Institute of Technology, established in 2012, is a government engineering
college in Chapra, Saran a district in the state of Bihar. Known for its political, social and cultural
heritage, the district is known to have given birth to a number of culturally and historically notable
figures starting from Rajendra Prasad, Jay Prakash Narayan, scholar Rahul Sankrityayan, Bhikari
Thakur, Braj Kishore Prasad and so on. The institute considers itself to be a part of the trajectory
of models created by those great legends by contributing to our society and nation through
producing professionals of uncompromising quality.
In the changing face of the economy of our nation in general, and Bihar in particular, the institute
claims its position in understanding the growth in manufacturing and service sectors. Therefore,
we perceive it as our primary responsibility to promote technically inquisitive minds to give
ample exposure and skills to serve the society, thereby strengthening the spine of our nation for
a better future.
Our vision is not simply restricted to the technical enhancement of the future generation, but also
based on the broader idea that a comprehensive development of individual is possible only
through the promotion of various and extra-curricular activities alongside curricular activities. To
assure such a multi-faceted development of our students, the institute itself takes upper hand to
conduct various workshops, seminars, expert lectures, and promote the students to begin their
own initiatives such as establishment of various clubs, individual projects etc. serving their own
exclusive purposes. We have also been training our students by encouraging them to visit various
premier educational institutions, industries, arranging internship programs and promoting
academic projects across departments.
I wish that our students will Come forward to learn, go forth to serve and excel into the world with
great strength, not only to do job but to remain beautiful human beings.
With best wishes!!!

2. Induction Program (2019)
When new students enter an institution, he/she comes with diverse thoughts, cultural and social
background. It is important that we help them in adjusting to the new environment and inculcate in them
the ethos of the institution with a sense of larger purpose and incubate them in the environment of the
institute. In this regard, AICTE has also proposed a 3-week long induction program for the UG students
entering the institution, right at the beginning of their four-year journey. Its purpose is to make a fresher
feel comfortable in their new environment, open them up, set a healthy daily routine, create bonding in the
batch as well as among faculty members and students, develop awareness, sensitivity and understanding of
the self, people around them, society at large, and nature. In this regard, LNJPIT Chapra had successfully
conducted 3 Week long INDUCTION PROGRAMME from 16 September to 20 October 2019. Our Program
encompasses four components namely Human values, Communication skills, Student Proficiency and extra-
curricular activities. The selection of these components is based upon requirement of students and local
flavor available at the institute. Some of the activities scheduled under this Program are down listed:
• Campus and lab visit
• Mentor mentee distribution under SMC Cell of institute
• Awareness about Anti Ragging
• Awareness about Plastic under EMP Cell of institute
• Know your Branch; series of lectures
• SELP (Student Excellence & Learning Program) by Art of Living
• Diagnostic test under EAP Cell of institute
• Communication skill test under Employability Cell of institute
• Program for Women Empowerment under Women Cell.
• Poem reading/GD/story telling

Alumni of a college are always play very
significant role to brighten the college name and
grooming the current pursuing students. As we
all know alumni had a past experience of this
living college with extra experiences by which
they achieved some height in their life. LNJPIT
Chapra conducted a webinar with college Alumni
on 28th June 2020 to interact with their juniors
and guide some important aspects of career
enhancements. The webinar was conducted in
two sessions morning and afternoon session.
Each session was 2 hrs. interactive session in
which 100+ students attended from 3rd and 4th
year. First session was addressed by Mr. Pappu
Kr Sharma 2012 Batch CSE, he is currently
serving for Microsoft Corporation a s a Senior
Associate of Technology. He explained the way to
approach industry with relative skills and how to
confidently deliver answers in any interview.
Second session was addressed by Mr. Baban
Kumar 2013 batch Civil; he is currently pursuing
Ph. D from IIT Kanpur after completing his
Master’s from NIT Jalandhar. He defined the way
to gather resources for relevant field. He also
