- Sri. Adityanath Das
I feel radiant to know that the vibrant APREI Society, Hyderabad is bringing out
school calendar for the academic year 2017-18 to navigate the staff and the students and
remind their due duties and responsibilities. This hand book has all essential information for the
safe, smooth and successful functioning of the schools. No doubt to say that this book provides
a clear direction to the school staff what to do round the clock though out the year.
The roles of Teachers and taught are defined and reminded. In the emerging
society, achieving perfection in schools, exclusively depends on regularity, patience, punctuality
and positive attitude. To meet these needs, this school calendar can help a lot. It is the primary
responsibility of the teachers to shape the child, a proud citizen of the nation.
I wish and strongly believe that this calendar of events would definitely pave the
way to achieve the goals that are in front of us.

- Sri. M. Nagabhushana Sharma
It gives me immense pleasure to plan and bring out this Institutional planning for
the academic year 2017-18. I feel proud to be associated with this great organization as a
student, teacher, lecturer and principal in the past and the Secretary at present.
In this present era of speedy globalization the aspiration of the wards and the
parents are in high range. To meet this to the extent most profound information and direction
to the teachers and the taught on the academic matters is inevitable.
This hand book provides scope to the teachers and the students to check pursue
and measure their day wise contribution of their duties, responsibilities and activities.
Providing learning environment in every schools, is in the minds and hands of the
teachers who abide honestly and follow dos and don’ts inscribed in this book. It’s the dire need
in the present society to make and shape the children with positive attitudes and readiness
skills.
Despite changes in different corners the teachers ought to strength and strive
their arms towards perfection. The survival of any organization solely relies on its sound
harvest.
Hence everyone should rededicate their services to bring out the best credit to
the APREIS.
It is my strong wish that residential pattern and creation of atmosphere is the
moral bound responsibility of the Principal and staff of every school.
Hope this may ignite all to be task and target oriented in achieving the objectives
of education and building a child with values and character.

Note: -
1. Students attendance is must be taken when teachers changes their duties at 10AM,
3PM and 9PM. Both the duty teachers, incoming and outgoing teacher must sign in
the register duly stating handed over and taken over.
2. All the programmes mentioned above should be taken up by the concerned duty
teacher, according under his/ her supervision.
3. The duty teacher should pay utmost attention and take care of the students to avoid
any untoward incidents.

Note: - The ATP and the PET should record the assembly proceedings in a separate record
and to be submitted to the Principal daily after assembly.

Important note: -
1. SPL should invite the Principal from chamber for prayer. PET should see that entire
assembly is in attention position while Principal is being escorted by SPL.
2. Staff and students should speak in English for 4 days, 1 day in Telugu and 1 day in
Hindi so as to master the skills of communication in three languages.
3. All the teachers including the staff nurse should attend the morning assembly. If any
teacher regularly irregular in attending assembly will be viewed seriously and
Principal has to call for explanation and the same may be brought to the notice of
the Regional Deputy Secretary concerned in writing.
4. Class teachers shall stand behind the students of their respective classes.
5. Class leaders shall give the details of sick students while reporting attendance in the
assembly.
6. The PD and PET shall see that students maintain discipline while assembly and
dispersing from the morning assembly with drum beat.
7. Announcement of Birthdays of students and greetings should made in the assembly.
8. One or two teachers and students shall speak about the significance of days of
National & International importance.
9. National flag shall be hoisted on all Mondays and saluted by all in the morning
assembly.
10. Students shall sing the National anthem and other patriotic songs in chorus while
audio cassette is playing by taking due care. ATP and PET should see that mike is
used for the purpose.
11. Morning assembly shall not exceed 15 minutes.

Responsibilities of Deputy Warden: -
The Deputy Warden shall prepare the per-capita particulars of the
month before 10th of every month and present it before the food committee. He/she shall
also study the problems (if any) and place them before the food committee for solution.
1. Dy. Warden should submit the monthly stock verification report on the 1st of every
month.
2. The Dy. Warden shall circulate the notice of food committee meeting to all the
members on 9th of every month (one day in advance) with agenda items.
3. The Dy. Warden shall implement the resolutions adopted in the food committee
meeting without fail.
4. Any leave to kitchen staff is to be granted on the recommendations of Dt. Warden.
5. The Dy. Warden shall properly utilize the amount sanctioned for the purchase of
utensils every year.
6. Records of gunny bags and damaged utensils should be maintained.
7. Should up date all stock/ issue registers every day, duly signed by Principal.
8. Dy. Warden is responsible for incurring excess per capita or low per capita
expenditure.
9. It is the responsibility of the Dy. Warden to maintain the quality of food.
10. He/ She has to look after the serving of food items to all students and staff in
systematic way.
11. It is his/her duty to maintain discipline and orderliness in the dining hall with the
help of the House masters and PET/ PD.
12. The Dy. Warden should see that the funds sanctioned towards food charges should
be utilized completely and should not give scope for savings.
Duties of ATP (Assistance to the Principal): -
The following duties may be assigned to the ATP, for effective and smooth
administration in the school.
1. He/ she has to prepare institutional plan, time table and get the year plans prepared
by the teachers. He/ she should arrange extra work for the teachers on leave and
also for the posts vacant and ensure that no class is left vacant.

2. He/ she has to arrange to conduct all examinations under the guidance and
directions of the Principal. He/ she has to maintain concerned records and registers
and arrange to send the marks cards to the parents and submit to distinct or society
authorities.
3. He/ she has to supervise the day and night supervised studies, arrange the classes
for slow learners and also supervise the club activities, co-curricular and extra –
curricular activities.
4. During the recess period, he/ she must see that all the students go out without
making any noise and return to the classes in time.
5. He/ she has to make all arrangements for conducting all functions and faculty
meetings in the school including daily assembly with the help of the PD/ PET and in
charge concerned.
6. He/ she has to maintain general discipline of the school with the help of PD/ PET,
Dy. Wardens and other teachers.
7. He/ she has to make necessary arrangements for the dispersal of the students for
vacation and holidays with the assistance of the House maters and PET.
8. He/ she should assist the Principal at the time of admissions and spot valuation
camps.
9. He/ she have to make arrangements for the conduct of functions in the school.
10. He/ she must be in charge of the school during the Dasara/ Pongal holidays and
during summer vacations if required by the Principal.
11. He/ she have to cooperate with the Principal and discharge any duty entrusted to
him/ her by the Principal for the smooth and efficient functioning of the institution.
12. In absence of the Principal, the ATP has to look after all duties of the Principal till
his/ her presence in the school.
Duties of House masters: -
1. House masters have to work as loco parents and they have to maintain the log –
book with all the personal information of the students and their academic
performance.

2. They have to attend the kit inspection every day at 7.15AM and see that the
dormitories are neat and clean.
3. They should appoint leaders to maintain proper cleanliness and discipline in the
dormitories and also clean maintenance of toilets.
4. They should see that the students do not damage or spoil the school property and
waste food items in the dining hall.
5. They should collect pocket money from students and maintain accounts
transparently. They should write their expenditure details in the account books
properly.
6. The House masters should assist the Dy. Warden to receive monthly stock of
provisions to the hostel.
7. They should conduct monthly meetings with the students and discuss their
problems and brought to the notice of the Principal to find solution.
8. House masters should look after the sick students with the help of the staff nurse, If
it is necessary they should accompany with the staff nurse to the hospital.
9. In case of emergency it should be, immediately informed to the parents on the
advice of the Principal and the staff nurse.
10. When a student wants to go home on leave the house masters should know the need
and urgency before recommending to the Principal. He should maintain a movement
register for such students.
11. He should attend to any other duties assigned by the Principal for the development
of the institution.
12. They should carefully watch observe the students not to have electronic gadget(Cell
phones), valuable items/ Jewels etc,.
Duties of Staff Nurse: -
1. She is in charge of the health clinic and she has to work sincerely to improve the
hygienic conditions in the school campus.
2. In addition to her clinic duties in the morning 7AM to 8AM, 9.30AM to 12 noon, 1PM
to 2PM and in the evening 6PM to 7PM, she should be available at all the times to
attend the case immediately whenever her presence is required.

3. She has to act according to the advice of the doctor and issue medicines to the sick
students.
4. She should maintain stock and issue register of medicines.
5. She should maintain the health record of each student separately and assist the
doctor at the time of medical inspection/ check up.
6. She should prepare indents for the purchase of medicines and get the approval of
school doctor and submit them to the principal.
7. She has to take health education classes.
8. She has to pay special attention towards the sick and accompany them during their
hospitalization on all days as per the need.
9. She has to supervise the cleanliness and hygienic conditions at kitchen, dining hall
and toilets every day.
10. She should look after all the needs of the sick children and arrange for required diet.
11. She has to attend the school clinic in the morning and in the evening on every
holiday also to issue medicines to the sick students.
12. On holidays she has to bring the list of sick students to the notice of the duty
teachers for taking necessary care.
13. She should be available to attend the school on phone call in case of
emergency/need.
14. In girls' schools the staff nurse should educate the students regarding
precautionary/ hygienic measure to be taken up during menstruation period or at
maturity time.
15. She should bring the sickness/ ailments of students to the notice of the principal/
concerned house teacher every day.
16. She is sole responsible for the health of the students and hygienic conditions in the
school, dormitory and hostel.
17. She has to co-operate with the principal and discharge duty entrusted to her by the
principal for smooth and perfect functioning of the institution.

Duties of Physical Director(PD) & Physical Education Teacher(PET): -
1. The PD/ PET should alert the students early in morning at 5 AM and conduct
Physical Education and Yoga classes after completion of their nature calls. The
timings specified are 5.15AM to 6AM.
2. He/ She should conduct morning assembly and roll call in the evening.
3. He/ She should maintain discipline at the time of serving Milk, Breakfast, Lunch, tea
and Dinner.
4. He/ She is responsible for the general discipline of the School/ Colleges and
cleanliness of the campus and maintenance of the play ground.
5. He/ She should maintain the records of Physical measurements of the boys/ girls
every year and note the progress. In case of any abnormality such as underweight/
obesity, he/ she should bring the same to the notice of the principal and staff nurse to
do need full.
6. He/ She assist the medical staff at the time of medical inspection.
7. He/ She should arrange and organize the meetings in a disciplined manner.
8. He/ She should leave the students at the time of field trips and excursions.
9. He/ She should prepare the students to participate in games and sports for District/
Regional and State level competitions. And conduct school level competitions.
10. He/ She is all over in charge of campus cleanliness and neatness.
Responsibilities of PG/ TG Teachers: -
1. Academic: -
A) Preparation: -
1. He/ She has to prepare academic plan. If the society is supplying the annual plans, he/
she has to make additions that deems fit to the school. The annual plan is based on
minimum academic programme.
2. He/ she should write lesson plans for all the topics and for all subjects, he/ she is
teaching every week and submit the same for perusal by the Principal on the first
working day of every week, the lesson plans shall be prepared unit wise.
3. The subject teachers have to develop their respective laboratories. Language teachers
also have to develop language laboratories.

4. The respective subject teachers have to prepare students for Mathematics Olympiad,
National talent search test, Quiz, General Knowledge tests, Science fairs, etc.
5. He/ She shall prepare teaching dairy and submit the same for perusal by the Principal
on every day.
6. He/ she shall in consultation with the Principal, arrange extension lectures in his/her
subject for the benefit of the students.
B) Instructional hours: -
1. It should be his/ her endeavor to inculcate in his/ her students a love for his/ her
subject.
2. He/ she shall be utilize the entire period allotted to the subject for teaching and for
meaningful teaching learning activity only. He/ she should not try to propagate any 'ism'
other that 'patriotism'.
3. He/ she should complete the syllabus both month wise and annually in time and certify
at the end of the year that he/ she taught the entire syllabus prescribed for the classes
entrusted to him/ her.
4. He/ she should not leave the school complex, even when they are free from their
instructional periods without permission from the head of the institution.
C. Evaluation: -
1. He/ she shall prepare the question papers along with blue prints and principals of
valuation and submit to the Principal for approval before 3 days of the commencement
of each formative Assessment/ slip tests. In the case of DCEB examinations, Principals of
valuation is to be prepared only on the day of examination.
2. In additions to the routine project works, club activity, remedial teaching, he/ she shall
conduct 4 FA's and Slip and 3 SAs in his/ her subject scheduled given by the DCEB.
3. Answer scripts are to be corrected within stipulated time. Marks sheets along with
answer scripts are to be submitted to the Principal for his/ her perusal within a week
from the date of the exam. Class teachers should prepare and issue progress cards
immediately thereafter.
4. He/ she has to prepare graded assignments for the gifted/ average/ slow learners.
5. Every PGT/ TGT shall maintain case sheets for the low achievers take necessary action.

6. He/ she shall correct the written work of the students and submit to the Principal for his
perusal as and when the latter demands or as per the calendar of events. The written
work includes projects, Science records, home work, etc., that is given by him for a
specific purpose. He/ she shall prepare lists of common errors and correct students from
committing them.
D. Supervision: -
1. He/ she should attend the supervised study duties allotted to him/ her as per the time
table.
2. He/ she should guide the gifted as well as late bloomers are learning activities.
3. He/ she should attend the supervised study periods in formal dress only. Dress gives
smartness and decency.
E. General: -
1. He/she should guide the CRT's and Guest teachers of their subject & buildup team work.
2. He/ she should prepare TLM and make use of them in the class.
3. He/ she should create a learning atmosphere, the class with the help of motivational
speeches, pictures etc. related to the lessons.
4. He/ she should encourage children interact freely in the class room.
5. He/ she should diagnose the individual deficiencies of the children and help them to
overcome them.
6. He/ she should not say no to any in-charge works assigned by the Principal.
F. Administrative: -
1. He/ she attend the morning assembly without fail. Absence at the assembly is a serious
offence.
2. He/ she should be in the class assigned in the time table within 3 minutes from the
stroke of the bell and shall not leave the class before the bell. He/ she should not be in
the after the bell is over, that may cause inconvenience to the next period teacher.
3. He/ she should not leave the classes idle during the instructional periods at any cost.
Absence from the classes assigned shall be viewed seriously. He/ she should not leave
the school premises during working hours without written/ oral permission of the
Principal.
4. There should not be any adjustment in the supervised study among the colleagues.

5. He/ she should attend to extra works assigned.
6. He/ she should not use cell phones in class room. Cell phones are to be switched off
while he is in class.
Maintenance of Toilets: -
1. Scavenger, who is in-charge of cleaning toilets should clean all the toilets thrice in a
day(early in the morning, afternoon and in the evening).
2. Phenol, bleaching powder, Acid etc. should be used for proper cleanliness.
3. Proper water facility for cleaning the toilets and bath rooms should be provided and
every toilet should have bucket with mug.
4. After cleaning the toilets, proper supervision by the staff nurse and PET should be made
and recorded in the kit inspection register with remarks if any.
5. The staff nurse and the housemasters have to educate and guide the students about
proper usage and maintenance of toilets such as usage of sufficient water before and
after using them.
Kitchen garden: -
1. Maintenance kitchen garden provides quality vegetables, Green leaves and fruits
improves the quality and quantity of food to students.
2. Kitchen gardening in a school inculcates good habits and responsibilities to the students.
The teachers should inculcate their habit of working in the gardens and watering the
plants.
3. In every school a suitable area for kitchen garden should be selected, leaf vegetables,
such as Gongura, Menthi, Coriander leaves, Pudina can be grown easily. The vegetables
like Radish, Lady's finger, Brinjal etc., can also be grown with a little efforts.
4. Fruit yielding trees like Sapota, guava, Naval fruits can be planted during winter and
rainy seasons.
5. During the holidays the maintenance gardening should be allotted to multipurpose
workers on duty.

Plantation and Beautification of school: -
Plantation should be taken up with due interest. the students should be
encouraged to plant trees and look after them by adoption method. Similarly, the teacher
should be models in plantation activities. The PET and other interested teachers should involve
in this activity of plantation. Nurture of trees shall be considered for awarding works in SUPW/
life skills.
The school can be beautified by keeping the class rooms and surroundings neat
and clean. By white washing periodically and writing quotations and drawing national leaders’
pictures on walls can also make the school complex look beautiful. The other beautifying
aspects are planting ornamental, Flowering plants at the entrance and both sides of the internal
roads.
To make it effective everyone on the campus should feel responsible.
