Welcome to our first and final newsletter of 2012, what a year it’s been. Thank you for all your comments and
ideas and returning the newsletter questionnaire. Here are just a few of your comments and requests:-
One newsletter for the whole club as long as all squads are included where possible.

Hopefully as we go through the newsletter we will answer some of the above. It is really important you
communicate and let us know what you want covered or changed. We may not get it right initially but we will
try:- . [email protected]
Our aim for 2013 is to complete a monthly double A4 paged (no more) newsletter to be completed a
couple of weeks after every DASC committee meeting to ensure all information is passed to you quickly
in a clear and transparent manner. Our next newsletter will be beginning of Feb.

Important Information
Squad Reps (SR’s) Roles and responsibilities :- Ben along with the committee felt it was important to implement an additional pro active communication line for
each squad. Initial parental feedback about the role has been positive and it appears to be working well. Please
bear with them initially as it may take a little time for the role to settle down. I am sure you will agree this is a
great step forward for the club. We are confident this will offer a huge communication benefit for each squad,
parent and coach. The committee will still liaise with the head coach in the first instance and any relevant
points will be passed on to SR’s. The Squad Rep (SR) is a very important role and person and all parents will need
to know who to liaise with. The Squad Reps are very much the 'go to' person for each squad in the first
instance. The role is focusing on quick clear concise communication given mainly by the coach, to the parents.
DASC Website Forum It will be beneficial for all parents to “login” to the forum on the website (instructions are on the website) This
tool will hold lots of information and will also back up what the SRs are explaining to you.

Well done to Sam Pattinson we are so proud of your well

part. Sam completed 6 races and had many personal bests
along with his coveted bronze medal. Sam enjoying himself
at this special event with his friends and teammates.
Fantastic results for Keiran Jardine
National squad swimmer Keiran Jardine was 1 of 20+ disability swimmers who competed for Scotland recently
at the Disability Sport Events National Open Short Course Championships held at the Ponds Forge Sheffield.
Keiran competed against some of London's 2012 Paralympic swimmers and as well as getting PB's in all his
events won Silver in the 200m free also in this event setting a new S14 Scottish open record, bronze in the
100m free, bronze in the 100m back and also helping win gold in the 4x100m relay. It was a great weekend for
the Scottish Disability Squad with a 2nd place finish in the team events. Brilliant work Keiran.
Scottish SC Champs Edinburgh Dec 2012.
“The swashbuckling team posing once again!!! and showing some support”
Scottish Nationals was held in Edinburgh and Ben was delighted with the results and believes this was the best
Nationals event for the club so far. Ben stated that all the swimmers should be proud of their performances.
Once again a fantastic championship with a plethora of PB’s across the board and a fantastic Gold Medal for
Euan Murgatroyd. Proving all that hard work in and out of the pool is working, well done to you all.
