as seen on tvWednesday Dec 12th, many of the chorus were seen on WTVT Good Day Tampa Bay. They appeared on several going to commercial break “teases” and then were featured singing “Winter Wonderland” . Ticket Angel, Dianne Roberts, even received a phone call while they were still on the air from a lovely lady that just saw them and had to see the show!
Happy40th
BirthdayTony!
Tony’s 40th birthday was November 24th (a Saturday) so the chorus presented him with his BIG 40th Birthday card at the next rehears-al November 26th, and they sur-prised(?) him by singing “Happy
Birthday” when he was expecting to hear “Keep the Whole World Singing”. A mas-ter plan devised one rehearsal evening when he wasn’t able to be there. (See Page 13 for answer)

The ladies of the Heralds of Harmony - the “Angels” - gather during the last rehearsal to put together and hand out Christmas goody bags filled with homemade treats and tasty candies. You won’t see me in the pictures cause I was the lucky one holding the camera!!
Nicole Clester (Shaun’s sister) and Shaun Reynolds expertly string lights on the Christmas tree in preparation for the shows.

a Message from the president: roll CreditsWell, we have another great Christmas show under our belts. Many have said it was our best ever.[1]
A lot (a lot!) of people contributed to our success on Sunday, and it would be difficult to name them all ... but I’m going to give it my best shot. Thanks to everyone listed (usually in no par-ticular order), and sorry to anyone I missed.
Thank you, one and all. Anyone I missed; you know who you are, but I do not! :( The wheels could’ve come off our little wagon at many times and in many places. It took all of you doing many jobs and, dare I say, working in harmony, to make it a success. It’s ironic that in a singing organization, all too often we have “unsung heroes”, so I wanted to try to sing a little about them, however off-key. :) Thanks again! —Prez Larry
[1] I thought it was good, but I also have fond memories of the first one I attended in 2006 (you mean “Barbershop” isn’t about cutting hair?), and our 10th anniver-sary show where we did a song called “In The First Light”, which was just awesome. :)

History

ER
froM tHe HistorianHopefully you know by now, that the Heralds History is contained on the public side of the web site and you don’t have to log on to see this information. After getting to the front page and just under the Heralds of Harmony Banner – ‘It’s great to be a Herald’, on the dark blue bar, you will find Youth, Our Sponsors, Our Director, The Heralds, Our History, and Newsletters. By clicking on Our History, you will see our history divided by decades and you can further drill down to individual years.
Since I add this data to the site, I read all of the material. I wish I had been the first to say ‘those who don’t read history are doomed to repeat it’ for I see same problems being solved time and again. However, there is one year that really jumps out,
1991. In reading the Herald Bulletins, I find a real energy in the chapter/chorus leadership. The new director was Joe DeRosa and this was the beginning of 20 years of excellent accomplishment. Hopefully, our new board will provide a ‘bellweather year’for our future.

Thank you for updating your attendance plans. This saves time as the data is available to the Events and Music Teams. Three examples pop right out with the Bucs games, Fox 13 performance, and the Christmas Shows. Again, Thanks. The web site has progressed to be an outstanding communication tool for the chapter. From music and learning file distribution to attendance planning to Document storage (Secretary -- Board Meeting Minutes) to the annual plan (Manage – Projects and Tasks – 2012 Heralds of Harmony Management Plan) to instant communication (Interact – Discussion Board – various discussion groups) are just a few of the ways that the chapter/chorus have for effective communication. There are other functions available but we are not prepared to introduce them as yet but hopefully soon. We’ll have more on this later. ~Dave Roberts
