    Merry Christmas!

  • My dear Brothers and Sisters in the coming Savior,

    Today we mark the Fourth Sunday of Advent and Christmas is just a few days away. On behalf of Fr Dave, Fr Ben, Fr Paul, Deacon Jim, Br Leland and myself, Merry Christmas!

    May you rejoice in the Birth of our Savior and never doubt the love beyond all telling with which God loves you! He loves us so much that humbly and silently he came among us so that we would never be afraid to approach him. May the Christ-child bless you and reward your faith in His gentle yet all-embracing love! Merry Christmas! – Fr Jeremy OMV

    “The Nativity of our Lord Jesus ChristThe Twenty-fifth Day of December,

    when ages beyond number had run their course from the creation of the world,

    when God in the beginning created heaven and earth, and formed man in his own likeness;

    when century upon century had passed since the Almighty set his bow in the clouds after the Great Flood, as a sign of covenant and peace;

    in the twenty-first century since Abraham, our father in faith, came out of Ur of the Chaldees;

    in the thirteenth century since the People of Israel were led by Moses in the Exodus from Egypt;

    around the thousandth year since David was anointed King;

    in the sixty-fifth week of the prophecy of Daniel;

    in the one hundred and ninety-fourth Olympiad;

    in the year seven hundred and fifty-two since the foundation of the City of Rome;

    in the forty-second year of the reign of Caesar Octavian Augustus, the whole world being at peace,

    JESUS CHRIST, eternal God and Son of the eternal Father, desiring to consecrate the world by his most loving presence, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and when nine months had passed since his conception, was born of the Virgin Mary in Bethlehem of Judah, and was made man:

    The Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ according to the flesh.” - from the Roman Martyrology

    This announcement of the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord from the Roman Martyrology draws upon Sacred Scripture to declare in a formal way the birth of Christ. It begins with creation and relates the birth of the Lord to the major events and personages of sacred and secular history. The particular events contained in this announcement help us pastorally to situate the birth of Jesus in the context of salvation history.

    THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENTFocus: Jesus is the fulfillment of the promises God has

    made to the House of David.Today’s readings remind us that in Christ Jesus, God has been faithful to the promises he made to his Chosen People. Our salvation in Christ is how we are reconciled back to God, who created us and loves us.

    Isaiah prophesies a sign for Israel: The virgin shall conceive, and bear a son who will embody God’s redemptive presence with his people. Paul, recalling his own apostolic calling, writes that the Gentiles are also called to belong to Jesus Christ. In the Gospel, the Lord’s angel comes to Joseph in a dream and reveals the circumstances of Mary’s pregnancy, and what this means. Joseph obeys the angel’s commands.

    PART ONE - THE PROFESSION OF FAITHSECTION ONE - "I BELIEVE" - "WE BELIEVE"

    Man’s Response To God / I Believe – The Obedience of Faith

    149. Throughout her life and until her last ordeal15 when Jesus her son died on the cross, Mary's faith never wavered. She never ceased to believe in the fulfilment of God's word. And so the Church venerates in Mary the purest realization of faith.

    That Man Is You is currently on Winter break. We will meet once again on Saturday, January 18th beginning at 6:30am. We wish

    you all a Merry Christmas!

  • Overcoming Spiritual DiscouragementFEBRUARY 15, 2020 | 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM

    With warmth, understanding, and pastoral skill, Fr. Timothy Gallagher, OMV provides a hopeful invitation to all who struggle to overcome the greatest obstacle in the spiritual life: discouragement. You will learn practical ways to find peace amid your spiritual struggles, and patience in the face of even the most intense trials. In these talks, Fr. Gallagher will explore the spiritual teaching of Venerable Bruno Lanteri, founder of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, whose wisdom guided many out of discouragement and into new hope. There is no shame in spiritual

    desolation. Fr. Gallagher reminds us that the greatest of saints suffered from this affliction. The key is to learn how to draw closer to God in life’s darkest moments. Overcoming Spiritual Discouragement is a call to hope... a call to solace in time of suffering... and a call to stand tall in times of affliction. Learn how to enter into the sublime peace and joy that our Lord promises.
