Its Time Frame Is Different From Earth

Did you know…

The length of a mercurian year is 87.97 earth days.

Technical Information.

Mercury’s length of orbit is 107 000 miles (171 200 km) and takes 58.646 earth days.

Mercury has the strongest gravitational pull of all the planets.

Mercury is 3 031 miles in diameter (4 850 km).

Due to the shadow, cast by the sun, Mercury is the hardest planet to see from satellites at sunrise, and twilight.

Mercury’s Relation To The Sun.

Their proximity is 36 000 000 miles (57.6 million km)

Mercury’s orbit shape seems to make the sun stop, reverse, correct itself, and then repeat.

Mercury moves faster when closest to the sun, at this point in time, the sun looks nine times bigger.

Mercury is an inner planet.

Mercury’s Temperatures

Extremely hot and too hot to live in, due to the continually scorching heat of the sun.

Studies On Mercury

Mercury was first sighted in 265 B.C, although nothing was known about Mercury until 1639.

In the 1950’s, radar waves were bounced off Mercury.

Names;

Although most people have never seen it…A long time ago, people thought that it was two different planets. In the morning, people called it Apollo. In the evening, people called it Hermes. When it was established that it was one planet, it was called Woden, which is where we get the word, Wednesday.
