The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Graham Latty, and Lady Mayoress, Councillor Pat Latty, officially opened the new Mercure Leeds Centre Hotel at a launch party organised by general

manager Ruslana Yarmolyuk on 18 September.

Elegant cocktails and canapés were served to attendees including Splendid Hospitality’s Chairman Shiraz Boghani, Vice Chairman Nadeem Boghani, CEO Stuart Bailey, CFO Deshan Karunaratne, partners from

construction, architecture and design, as well as many other Splendid family members. Stuart Bailey gave a speech and thanked everyone involved in the refurbishment and then introduced the Lord Mayor who

Splendid Hospitality Group acquired the former New Ellington Hotel in the heart of the Leeds financial district in January 2016. The property has been completely refurbished with design

inspired by the city’s tailoring heritage and Yorkshire’s textile industry, 59 bedrooms and a restaurant called The Loom.

Contemporary design and quirky features merge with Yorkshire textiles and collectibles reminiscent of a traditional tailor shop. The Loom serves locally-sourced modern British dishes,

whilst The Loom bar has a retro feel and is ideal for after-work cocktails.

Mercure Leeds Centre is Splendid Hospitality’s third Accor property to open under the strengthening franchise partnership. Splendid Hospitality is one of the UK’s fastest growing

privately-owned hotel groups, comprising of independent properties and major brands including Accor, Hilton and IHG.

Stuart Bailey, CEO Splendid Hospitality, says: “We are pleased to introduce a first-class and memorable accommodation option to business and leisure travellers to Leeds, and to offer a
