If you see a SUN, this means NEW FUN!

June 1, 2020

Dear Lemont Park District Community,

We are pleased to bring you the 2020 Summer Memory Maker! Thank you very much for your patience and dedication as we continue to rewrite the playbook for all offerings due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This digital publication is filled with so many fun and in-person recreational opportunities available this summer such as onsite Day Camp, Drive-In Movies and many other options. All programming has been created in line with Phase 3 guidelines of the “Restore Illinois” plan! This includes programming in groups of 10 or less as well as increased sanitation measures. Details of this plan can be found on the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) website at www.dph.illinois.gov. Program offerings and operations are continuously being evaluated once the state reaches a new phase.

The Lemont Park District has been closely monitoring the Center for Disease Control (CDC) as well as all state and federal mandates and guidelines as it relates to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The District has worked diligently in developing the “Be Safe Together” strategy coinciding with the agencies phased approach at reopening parks and facilities. The key elements of this plan Include:

• Practicing social distancing • Wearing face coverings if social distancing is not possible • Washing hands thoroughly and often • Asking people to stay home when feeling unwell • Prohibiting gathering of groups larger than what the Restore Illinois Plans allows

With your help, we hope we can begin to recreate more and collaborate as we “Be Safe Together.”

Over 20 pages of fun activities are also offered in the District’s first-ever Virtual Program Guide available at www.LemontParkDistrict.org. These at-home options will also be available all summer long. So, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. At this time, Centennial Outdoor Aquatic Center remains closed. The District continues to research information and guidelines regarding pools. If state orders permit, the pool will openthis summer.

The Lemont Park District will continue to closely monitor the situation and follow the guidelines of the CDC as well as all state and federal directives. Please note, in-person programs may be adjusted and/or cancelled if required by state and/or federal mandates. Visit us online at www.LemontParkDistrict.org and be sure to follow us on social media.

Wishing you a safe, fun-filled summer and see you soon!

Sincerely,

The Lemont Park District Staff

Lemont Bank & Trust is a branch of Hinsdale Bank & Trust Company, N.A.

What do we love the most about this community? The people we share it with! That’s why we support the families here, the local businesses, and the charitable organizations too. Instead of just providing banking solutions, we also take pride in giving back to the people who work to make this area so great. Why? Because this isn’t just home to us; it’s home to all of us. And, as a true community bank, we know that when we all do our part, we can help make Lemont better for everyone.

Lemont Park District Day CampWhat might day camp look like for summer 2020? A day full of fun activities and adventure while

practicing social distancing. Small groups, led by two counselors, will participate in various camp activities throughout the park district campus. No field trips that require a bus ride, however, we will have lots of great entertainment and activities brought to us. Campers will still experience a summer full of fun and

activities such as: social and team-building, sports, arts & crafts and cook outs for campers participating in Camp Centennial. At this time, campers will not be swimming. However, swim opportunities are being assessed

and information will be forthcoming. Our counselors are well trained, enthusiastic, and friendly and CPR First aid certified. Camp Centennial is for ages 5-12 years. Campers will be divided into small groups based on age: 5-6 year old Pioneers, 7-9 year old Explorers and 10-12 year old Adventurers. All Campers

MUST BE age appropriate by the camp start date and be comfortable being left in a camp environment. (PC)

Drop off and pick up locations and procedures as listed in camper information packet.

Warning of RiskDespite careful and proper preparation, instruction, medial advice, conditioning and equipment, there is still a risk of

serious injury when participating in any recreational activity/program. Understandably, not all hazards and dangers can be foreseen. Participants must understand that certain risks, dangers and injuries due to acts of God, inclement weather,

with this program/activity (including transportation vehicles when provided.)

I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury to participants in this program/activity, and I voluntarily agree to assume the full risk of any and all injuries, damages or loss, regardless of severity, that my minor child/ward or I may sustain as a result of said participation. I further agree to waive and relinquish all claims I or my minor child/ward may

have (or accrue to me or my child/ward) as a result of participating in this program/activity against the Lemont Park District, including its officials, agents, volunteers and employees (hereinafter collectively referred as Lemont Park District.)

I do hereby fully release and forever discharge the Lemont Park District from any and all claims for injuries, damages or loss that my minor child/ward or I may have or which may accrue to me or my minor child/ward and arising out of, connecting

with, or in any way associated with this program/activity. I have read and fully understand the above important information, warning of risk, assumption of risk and waiver and release of all claims. If registering a minor participant, I further attest

that I have read the above to my minor child/ward.

Any faxed registration forms/signatures will be considered the same as an original form. Participation will be denied if the signature of an adult participant or the parent/guardian are not on the front of this waiver.
