Privacy of your data.

We are committed to ensuring the personal data you give us is protected. Your personal data is used in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal basis for processing this data is our legitimate interest as a bridge club. The Membership Secretary maintains a computer record of all the above details. This complete record is kept confidential for the purposes of contacting you when your membership renewal is due and in emergencies.

Your postal address and email will be added to the Welwyn Garden City Bridge Club website in order to enable you to have access to the website and for results to be added for club sessions in which you have participated.

Your name and email will be available to other members via the members’ area. Only club members can access some aspects of other member’s information on the website. Your telephone number will only be included on the club website and in the printed Annual Club Diary if you have agreed to this above.

Your name, address and email will be added to the English Bridge Union [EBU] database for the purposes of scoring at club events. The EBU require affiliated clubs to upload results from Club sessions. You can become an anonymous member of the EBU if you do not wish your details to be included; details are on the EBU website. Their privacy notice can be viewed on the EBU website.

Your name and email - if updated at any time - will be only be shared with the Hertfordshire Bridge Association [HBA] if you have agreed to this in order for you to continue to be advised of local and national bridge events.

Your car registration will be recorded separately and supplied to GLL Leisure Ltd in order for you to benefit from the Club’s free parking arrangement with GLL Leisure Ltd.
