Assalam-o-Alaikum.

On behalf of IMechE NUST, I am pleased to extend a formal invitation to attend the Jibraan Khalid

Memorial All Pakistan Speak Out for Engineering (SOfE) Competition. NUST School of Mechanical

& Manufacturing Engineering is proud to host the first student chapter of IMechE in Pakistan.

Following the Institutes objectives, the student chapter aims towards creating opportunities for

students, facilitating them in not only becoming more competitive engineers, but also in

representing our country on international platform.

SOfE is a competition for technical presentations. In this competition, competitors must give an

oral presentation on a subject related to engineering. It is specifically concerned with verbal and

visual communication in describing and explaining technical subjects.

SOfE is organized on yearly basis by IMechE in United Kingdom. The competition is for students of

engineering who want to improve the world through engineering, research assistants of the field

and professionals with a maximum experience of 10 years in any engineering field, and is aimed at

promoting the ability to communicate engineering ideas effectively. Details are attached in the

Appendix.

We are proud to host the 2nd All-Pakistan SOfE at School of Mechanical and Manufacturing

Engineering (SMME), NUST and this year the winner would represent Pakistan in South Asian

Region (SAR) conference to compete against participants from India and Sri Lanka.

The event is scheduled on Monday, 31st March, 2014 at the SMME seminar hall. Approximately 20

participants from various universities of Pakistan will be competing.

Event Title Jibraan Khalid Memorial Speak Out for Engineering (SOfE) Event Description Presentation Competition, on a field related to Engineering. Students of all

disciplines are encouraged to participate. Event Date 31st March 2014 Participation Limit 5 per college/university. In case more wish to apply, 5 will be shortlisted on

the basis of their synopsis. Registration Procedure Participant has to fill in an online form providing necessary details and the

Once the synopsis is approved, the entrant Package containing the Liaison Package (Event Details, Rules, Judgment Criteria, etc) along with the details of payment method for registration fee will be emailed to the successful Candidates. We will send a confirmation email to the participant along with the Schedule and all other necessary details (event details, accommodation details etc)
