Hello, I’m Melissa! I specialize in branding and graphic design with a focus on event marketing. I have a passion for powerful fonts that help you feel the message the company is trying to convey. I believe photography is the best way to capture and evoke emotion, especially when selling an experience or product. A typical week includes working on an upcoming event postcard or event logo, designing a sales deck template, or switching to a project management role with our creative agency. I spend a lot of time with Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator but my email and phone help me communicate with everyone in our department. During our basketball season, I create multiple graphics for Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, and assist posting the content with our social team. I’ve become more comfortable writing copy for and have created graphics for our website and online ads. The most important part of my job, is when it comes to using our new logo system. Projects have included applying it to uniforms, designing wall graphics for our basketball arena or our new strength training facility, or creating stationery that carries our new brand through all pieces. I work with a lot of outside vendors, but mostly our printers and know the ins and outs on packaging files, outlining fonts, or adding bleed and crop marks. Occasionally, I get to direct photo shoots or even go behind the camera capturing our fans during games. Overall, being able to work with different people whether its a sponsor, donor, or coworker, communication and creative thinking is key with this kind of work. Accepting feedback and criticism comes with the territory, and having an open-mind has helped a lot. Thank you for your time, and I would love to talk soon. WEBSITE REDESIGN

With mobile devices being second nature for, a single page view has become more popular and user-friendly in the last year. Our department decided we needed a make over, and I began mocking up a design taking features that our web-host has created for other athletic programs. Larger photos and graphics, and a clean white background stood out most to me and is the focus for my inspiration.

In this page, the “home-screen”, you would get five rotating highlight stories and your toolbar is at the bottom. When you start scrollingdown, the toolbar will stick to the top.

At the bottom of each section I’ve made room for a sponsor post or area for an internal promotion. I like keeping these at the bottom so we don’t distract viewers from our web contents readability.
