Who makes Omega Seafood Cooked Gourmet Clams?We,PHRProcessingLtdareafamilyownedmanufacturerofcookedgourmetseafood.Ourowners,ChrisandTrishRedwoodhavebeeninvolvedinthemusselindustryforover20years.Weaimtoproducepremiumcookedmusselsandclamswhichcanbeeatenstraightfromthepacketorusedanywherelivewouldnormallybeused.
How is the product made?TakingNewZealandLittleneckClamswhichhavebeensustainablyharvestedfromthepristinewatersofNewZealand’sGoldenBay,theyarebathedinnaturalseawatertoreleaseanygritbeforebeinginspectedandplacedinaplasticpouch.
Thepouchisthenvacuumsealedandfinallycookedunderpressureathightemperatureinasteamretort(industrialpressurecooker).Naturalflavoursarecapturedandretainedthroughthisprocesswhilefoodsafetyandproductshelflifeareenhanced.
