What is iComet?

• Student Portal– submit documents

Why doesn’t my I-20 show my major?

• Your major on your I-20 is indicated by a national code with a general name

• This may look different than UTD’s name for your major, but it is still correct

• Changing your major?

How is the estimated tuition calculated for my I-20?

• Based on minimum number of credit hours per semester, estimated living expenses, insurance expenses, number of dependents.

• Your I-20 shows your estimated expenses and how you are supporting yourself

• Your personal expenses may be different.

If your spouse or children are coming as an F2 Dependent – add $5,000 for a spouse, add $3,000 for each child

What financial documents can I submit to get my I-20?

• Financial Support Documents must be “liquid”

– Ex: checking account, savings account, loan sanction letters that are “in-principle” sanctioned or approved.

• TA/RA letter, scholarship

• Sponsor funds – parents, friends of family, other sponsor. Must sign F1 Financial Affidavit
