She ranked fourth on the team in smallbore at 565.08 in 13 appearances. Dutton also achieved success in the classroom, earning a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll during the spring 2012 semester. Freshman (2009-10) Dutton completed an extremely impressive freshman season with a sixth-place showing in air rifle at the NCAA Championships, which earned her second-team CRCA All-Collegiate honors in the discipline. In addition, Dutton was named to the All-GARC first team after she shot season highs in smallbore (579) and air rifle (593) at the GARC Championships and earned second place in the overall combined standings. Season Outlook (2012-13) After leading the team in smallbore season average during her junior campaign, Joyce Kim will be relied upon for strong contributions in both disciplines in her final season with the Huskers. Kim will also look to continue her work in the classroom as one of the team’s top academic performers. “Joyce is a great all-around shooter,” Head Coach Stacy Underwood said. “In the few short weeks we have been training she has drastically changed her approach to shooting. She is going to be a great competitor for our program and is motivated to get our team back to NCAA’s this year.”

Junior (2011-12) Kim made 13 smallbore appearances during her junior season, leading the team with her 573 average. She claimed a team-leading two individual smallbore titles. Kim fired a career-high score of 582 against Ohio State in November. In air rifle, Kim made 12 appearances, averaging 571.58. Her best air rifle score was 580, which she achieved twice. In the classroom, Kim continued her success by earning academic All-Big Ten honors as well as Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll accolades.

Sophomore (2010-11) Kim chalked up the majority of her appearances in the second half of the 2011 season and showed steady improvement throughout the season. Her efforts in air rifle culminated in her best score of the season at GARC competition, where she posted a mark of 589 to lead the Huskers on the day. Her score was also good enough to land her a spot in the finals, where she finished eighth overall. Kim finished the season with a total of 10 appearances in smallbore and 11 in air rifle. Kim was one of the top Huskers in the classroom. She earned CRCA All-Academic honors and was a first-team academic All-Big 12 honoree.She was also named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters.

Freshman (2009-10) Kim started her career shooting as an individual in both smallbore and air rifle. She set a season high in smallbore with a 577 against West Virginia on Oct. 11. By November she was a mainstay in the air rifle lineup after shooting a career-high 593 against Army on Oct. 18 and winning the individual title. Kim went on to average 581.20 in 15 air rifle appearances on

the season, good for fourth on the team. Kim competed 14 times in smallbore, earning a 565.57 average, putting her sixth on the squad. At the 2010 NCAA Championships, Kim contributed a 581 in air rifle. She earned her first career spot on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll following the spring semester.

Before Nebraska Kim competed for Rio Salado Sportsman’s Club in high school under Coach Ernest VandeZande, the same club as former Husker Christine Costello. Kim was named the Arizona State Rifle and Pistol Association Smallbore Junior of the Year in 2007-08. Kim was also an honor roll member at Highland High School.

Personal Joyce is the daughter of In and Mi Kim and has one sister, Kezlah, and two brothers, Sam and Isaac. Joyce was born Nov. 15, 1990. She is majoring in textiles, clothing and design and earned academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012 after claiming first-team academic All-Big 12 accolades in 2011. She was a CRCA All-Academic selection in 2011.

Season Outlook (2012-13) Katelyn Woltersdorf stepped up in a big way during her second season at Nebraska, making 13 appearances in both smallbore and air rifle throughout the season. Woltersdorf will continue to be a staple in the Husker smallbore lineup after increasing her season average by nearly nine points as a junior. “After last year’s conference championship performance, Katelyn is coming into this season at a great starting point,” Head Coach Stacy Underwood said. “Despite her achievements last year, she has been extremely motivated on the range, working on the little things to get that 1 percent more the team is working on achieving.”

Junior (2011-12) Woltersdorf continued to grow in her junior season as a Husker, becoming a reliable threat for the Big Red in both smallbore and air rifle. She performed in both disciplines in all 13 meets throughout the season for NU. Woltersdorf’s season average of 572.62 in smallbore was good for second overall on the team, while her combined scoring average of 1,147 was third overall for the Huskers. The junior also added an air rifle average of 574.38 during her junior campaign. Woltersdorf had a particularly strong end to the season for Nebraska, firing her way to a career-high score of 586 in smallbore at the GARC Championships in February. Her score was good for sixth overall at the match and led the Huskers to a third-place finish in smallbore at the match. Woltersdorf’s performance also helped the team to a third-place finish overall at the conference championship. A standout in the classroom in her junior season, Woltersdorf earned multiple academic honors throughout the year. A CRCA All-Academic selection, she also earned academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012. Woltersdorf ended the year by earning a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

Sophomore (2010-11) Woltersdorf appeared in a combined 11 meets in her first year at Nebraska, including seven performances in smallbore for the Huskers. She was a strong performer in the discipline throughout the season for the Big Red. Woltersdorf picked up her season high in smallbore against UTEP on Feb. 5, where she posted a score of 578 and captured her first-ever event title for the Huskers. Before Nebraska Woltersdorf was a top performer in the state

of Washington prior to her arrival at Nebraska. She was a two-time women’s state champion in Washington (2006, 2009) and also claimed the state’s top air rifle shooting honors in 2009. Woltersdorf attended Clark College in Vancouver, Wash. from 2008-2010 before transferring to Nebraska.

Personal Katelyn is the daughter of Byron and Lisa Woltersdorf and has one brother, Ethan. A textile design major at Nebraska, Katelyn earned academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012 and was a member of the CRCA All-Academic team in 2011.

Season Outlook (2012-13) Sunny Russell came on strong during the second half of her sophomore season at Nebraska, posting several solid performances to close out the year. She aims to lock up a spot in both the air rifle and smallbore lineups in her junior year while continuing her role as one of NU’s academic leaders. “Sunny is a great example of the student-athlete experience,” Head Coach Stacy Underwood said. “She is developing into a top performer for our team through her dedicated work on the range. Her involvement in SAAC and Life Skills provides great personal development and growth. Coupled along with the education she is receiving, she will be an excellent young leader when she leaves our program.”

Sophomore (2011-12) Russell, a leader in the classroom, also achieved success on the rifle range during her sophomore season by appearing in nine smallbore and nine air rifle events. Russell’s season was highlighted by her career-best air rifle score of 591 at the Roger Withrow Invitational. She ended up with a 577.89 average in air rifle, which was the fourth-best on the team. Russell produced a 563 average in smallbore. Russell continued her success in the classroom, as she earned academic All-Big Ten accolades and the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award. In addition, Russell was named to the Nebraska Scholar Athlete Honor Roll for her work during both semesters.

Freshman (2010-11) Russell put in a solid freshman season with Nebraska, appearing in all 14 competitions as a smallbore competitor and eight in air rifle. Russell’s best performance came in only her second competition of the year, when she posted a meet-high score of 582 in smallbore. The mark ties her for the NU record for best smallbore score by a freshman and was also the highest smallbore score of the season on the team. Russell completed the season with an average of 563.36 in smallbore and 574.12 in air rifle. Russell also shined in the classroom. She was a CRCA All-Academic Selection and earned spots on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters, earning a perfect 4.0 GPA in the spring.

Personal Sunny was born Aug. 18, 1992. She is the daughter of Lem and Cindy Russell and has one brother, Rustin, who competed on the rifle team at Memphis. Sunny is majoring in child, youth and family studies at Nebraska and earned academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012. She was a CRCA All-Academic selection in 2011.

Season Outlook (2012-13) After showing flashes toward the end of her sophomore season with the Huskers, ReAnn Wilson will look for more consistency on the range this season at Nebraska. Wilson made five appearances each in smallbore and air rifle during her sophomore campaign and will look to break into the NU lineup more during her junior year. “The enthusiasm and passion that ReAnn brings to our program is amazing,” Head Coach Stacy Underwood said. “Whether it is at practice on the range, speaking about Life Skills opportunities or hustling at workouts, ReAnn has great enthusiasm

for it all. It is this positive attitude that keeps the team focused on its goals when the roads get tough.”

Sophomore (2011-12) Wilson made five appearances in both smallbore and air rifle as a sophomore, averaging 554.80 in smallbore and 574.80 in air rifle. She fired her career-best air rifle score of 579 twice during the 2011-12 campaign, helping her claim the fifth-best air rifle average on the team. Wilson’s best smallbore score of 557 came at the season-opening meet against Air Force. Wilson achieved success in the classroom during

the spring 2012 semester, earning a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

Freshman (2010-11) Wilson was primarily an air rifle contributor in her first season at Nebraska, appearing in that discipline seven times. She finished the season with an average of 570.43, including season highs of 577 against Memphis and Army. Wilson added four appearances in smallbore, compiling an average of 557.25.

Before Nebraska At the 2009 USA Shooting Air Rifle Junior Olympics, Wilson placed 21st in the 121-member air rifle field. A 2006 Junior Distinguished Expert, Wilson was the 2008 Montana state champion in standard rifle.

Personal ReAnn is the daughter of Tamara and Kyle Mobley and Steve Wilson. Born June 22, 1992, she hails from Bozeman, Mont. She has one sister, Jenna, 16, and two brothers, Bryson, 12, and Blake, 9.

Season Outlook (2012-13) With a strong first year of competition under her belt, Kelsey Hansen will look to continue her efforts as one of Nebraska’s top shooters in her sophomore season. Hansen appeared in both disciplines in all 13 matches last season and logged NU’s best smallbore score in five separate matches. “Although Kelsey tends to be less outspoken, she speaks loudly through her actions,” Head Coach Stacy Underwood said. “On the range she has great focus and truly works on understanding the technicalities of our sport to get that 1 percent more. She is a true competitor who will be unrelenting in her efforts to help this team reach its goals.”

Freshman (2011-12) Hansen made a big impact in her first year with the Husker program, leading the team in combined scoring average at 1,153. She averaged 571.69 in 13 smallbore appearances and 580.85 in 13 air rifle appearances. Hansen took home Nebraska’s only combined title of the season against NC State in November, shooting a career-best smallbore score of 580. Hansen achieved her career-best score in air rifle of 587 on two occasions. The second time was at the GARC Championships, where she helped the Huskers earn a third-place finish. In the classroom, Hansen was named to the Nebraska Scholar-

Athlete Honor Roll for her work during the fall 2011 semester.

Before Nebraska Hansen came to Nebraska with a wealth of experience in rifle. The Minot, N.D., native took silver at the 2010 National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships. She also competed in the J2 division of women’s 10 m air rifle, where she posted a score of 776. Hansen has also attended the prestigious U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit Camp, conducted by the Army’s International Rifle team in Fort Benning, Ga. In addition to her abilities on the range, Hansen is also an accomplished swimmer. A swimming and diving team captain and four-year letterwinner at Minot High School, Hansen helped the team to a fifth-place finish in the state in 2010.

Personal Kelsey is the daughter of Jeff and Kari Hansen and has one sister, Kyley, 15. Kelsey was born Jan. 22, 1993 and is majoring in biology.

Before Nebraska Before Nebraska, Lorentz competed with West Anchorage High School, bringing home MVP honors in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and helping her squad to a 2012 Divisional championship. Lorentz was also a member of the Borealis Bullseyes club team in high school. The team finished second at the 2010 Junior Olympics in the Precision Team Championships and took fifth in the same category at the 2012 Junior Olympics. A standout in the classroom during her high school career, Lorentz graduated magna cum laude in 2012. She was a National Honor Society member and lettered in academics all four years of high school.

Personal Alexandrea, the daughter of Patrick and Jennifer Lorentz, is a native of Anchorage, Alaska. She was born on June 2, 1994 and plans on majoring in biology at Nebraska.

Major finished first in the NRA Junior Three-Position Air Rifle Precision competition in her division. She was also the Colorado Rifle Club Smallbore Prone Summer League Winner in the 1000 Handicap.

Personal Marissa is a native of Arvada, Colo., and was born on Oct. 2, 1993. She is the daughter of Les and Jody Major and has one sister, Leah, 19. Marissa’s cousin Max Burkhardt is also currently a member of the Memphis rifle team. She has not yet declared a major at Nebraska. Marissa chose Nebraska over TCU.

Before Nebraska Martin comes to Nebraska after an outstanding high school career in Washington. She was a three-time Washington state champion and finished second overall at the USA Shooting National Championships. Martin was a member of the USA Shooting team at the 2010 International Shooting Sports Federation Junior World Championships in Munich, Germany. She also won the 2009 Junior Olympic Three-Position Air Rifle Precision Class Championship. Martin shot with the Davenport Gun Club and the Colville Valley Sharp Shooters 4-H Club prior to arriving at Nebraska. She was a member of the championship-winning team at the WSRPA/NRA Championships in 2009 and 2011.

Personal Denise is the daughter of Fred and Grace Martin. Denise is a native of Chewelah, Wash., and was born March 2, 1994. She is a pre-engineering major at Nebraska and chose Nebraska over TCU.

MAGDALENA MICAL “Maggie is a tremendous worker,” Head Coach Stacy Underwood said. “I believe she is starting to see that it is the little things in her shooting that are going to pay big dividends in her performance. She has exceptional personal discipline to keep focused on those fundamentals to make her a great competitor.”

Before Nebraska Mical finished in first in smallbore at the 2011 Florida Junior Olympic Qualifier and was a 2011 Junior Olympic Nationals qualifier. She also finished fourth at the American Legion Three-Position Air Rifle Championship in 2010 and was the Florida Metric Prone State Champion in 2010. Mical was a standout in the classroom during her high school career as well. She was a National Honor Society and French Honor Society member and also won the 2012 Outstanding Art Award at her high school.

Personal Magdalena is the daughter of Andrzej and Agnieszka Mical and was born Nov. 13, 1993 in Rzeszof, Poland before her family moved to Clearwater, Fla. She has four siblings: Maria, 21, Miroslaw, 16, Marge, 15 and Marce, 10. A pre-medicine major at Nebraska, Maggie picked NU over TCU and South Florida.
