29th Sunday in Ordinary Time Jesus knows that the Pharisees were seeking to entrap
him and he does not allow it. Government has a role to play, but God’s role is always more central and important. A ques-tion that arises from this Gospel is: Do we live in a way that reflects the primacy of God in our lives? Do our lives show God’s values regarding sharing our gifts and resources in the world? Do the poor have a place of primacy in our con-sciousness, as they do for God? What is one thing we can do this week to let the poor have a privileged place in our life and consciousness?
