Potential for CME to join value discussion

• The provider actively promotes improvements in health care and NOT proprietary interests of a commercial interest

• Continuing medical education enterprises need to understand and disseminate health informatics and bioinformatics—and use the information in improving health

• The collection, analysis, and synthesis of information derived from the care of patients (i.e., health information) and the application of the lessons learned from these data contribute to healthcare improvement

• Updated criterion rewards providers that teach about health informatics and how to apply the wisdom gained from health information to improve health and promote changes in practice
