Mediation is a flexible, non-binding, confidential process in which a qualified Neutral, theMediator, facilitates resolution of the issues betwen the parties and assists with settlementdiscussions. All parties and counsel are expected to participate in mediation in good faith.

Mediators may be attorneys or non-attorneys, with relevant experience. All Mediators must successfullycomplete initial and periodic training as required by the Court. All Mediators in this directory have met the

minimum of forty certified hours of training in the discipline of ADR. In addition, court certified mediators mustbe knowledgeable about civil litigation in federal court, have strong mediation process skills and the

temperament to listen effectively and facilitate communication between all participants and across "party" lines.Mediators must exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate meaningful options to assist

parties and other participants with settlement negotiations.
