FOuR guys are set to go on their annual St Andrews golfing trip when Jack’s wife tells him he isn’t going and she has something else planned.

When the other three get to St Andrews Jack is sitting at the bar with four drinks set up.

“How did you talk your missus into letting you go?” they ask.

He replies: “Last night my wife came up to me wearing a see-through nightie and pulled me into our bedroom. By her bed was the book 50 Shades Of Grey. On the bed she had handcuffs and ropes. Then she slipped off her nightie, lay down and said ‘Tie me up, handcuff me to the bed and do whatever you want.

“So, here I am!”

Stolen gearstuns scoutsHEARTBROKEN scouts could miss out on their annual camping trip after thousands of euros worth of equipment was stolen.

Gardai are appealing for help to catch thieves who broke into Lucan Scouts’ container in Dublin, stealing tents and cookers.

The theft took place between Sunday, March 1, and March 4.

Scout leader Lorraine Kelly added: “This is devas-tating for our group.

Anyone with any informa-tion should contact Lucan gardai on 016667300.

Frozen lakeman savedA MAN was saved by US Coast Guards after he tried to walk across a frozen lake from the US towards Canada.

The 25-year-old American was making his way from Detroit when he was lifted by members of the emergency services.

He was spotted on Lake St Clair, which borders the US and Canada, about 2.4km from shore.

The man was seen by a lookout assigned to the Coast Guard Cutter Neah Bay, a 140-foot ice-breaker, a Coast Guard official said.

HE is a world record powerlifter who can hoist objects THREE times his bodyweight and undergoes a tough training regime.

When Craig Naughton was just 15 he beat the national record for a squat lift in his first-ever competition, raising 125.5kg, and was just 5kg off the world record.

But the 16-year-old student from Ballina, Co Mayo, hasn’t let glory go to his head after he broke the world record in January by lifting 211.5kg.

Craig is a supporter of the anti-drugs movement within the sport.

The Irish Drug Free Powerlifting Association bans drug use and about 10% of competitors are tested at every competition.

Craig told the Irish Sunday Mirror: “There are other federations that allow drug use but this one is very strict. If you compete in a non-drug tested competition, you can’t compete in the IDFPA.

“It’s something I’d never take. I don’t see the use of it. We count it as cheating – you’re getting a lot of help.

“It’s good they say it’s non-drugs. If people find out you’re breaking a world record, they’d say straight away, ‘Oh he’s taking steroids’. But once it’s in a

drug-free competition and you’ve been tested, people can’t really

say that.”A growing number of teenagers

are starting to powerlift but it’s a world away from weighlifting.

Craig explained he has to balance school , study and social life with having a strict diet and

training regimes coming up to

competitions. He revealed: “For my age and weight I ’ve the biggest deadlift in the world. I still fit it all in but I don’t really get much time to myself.”

The teenager is looking to beat the world record again when the European Championship is held in Wexford next month and he will compete at the World Championships

in England in September. The GAA player turned powerlifter paid tribute to his coaches as he looks forward to excelling at the events.

He said: “I just want to thank Stephen Geddie, all The Gym staff and Keith Flannery.

“I wouldn’t have got this far without them.”
