2014 SPONSORSHIP
· America’s only quarterly fashion show ·· featuring ONLY DEBUT collections ·· exclusive, invitation-only guest list ·
www.RunwayCouturier.com - 415.385.5055 - San Francisco, CA USA
Through the eyes of Fritz Lambandrake…
Lookout, Paris. Move over, New York. “RUNWAY!” is the grassroots fashion show that announces San Francisco as the next international fashion “it” city. Having achieved nine runway events since the fall of 2011, our Scottish-tartan-themed Spring-2014 show, “RUNWAY HIGHLAND” is coming right up. Don’t miss the new-designer contest! Awards will include 1st Place – Best Fashion Design, 1st Runner-Up Best Fashion Design, Producer’s Choice, and Crowd Favorite!
So far, we’ve already shown the debut collections and individual designs of nearly one hundred rising fashion-design stars, all Bay Area or West Coast residents, and we’ll show nearly as many more this year alone! At every show, we deliver fresh designs that have never appeared on any runway anywhere. After all, if you’ve seen it before on any runway anywhere, it’s no longer fashion – it’s just clothes.
We’re so proud to say that we’ve never charged any of our new designers a penny – and we never will. Why not? The mission of Runway Couturier is ambitiously simple: to eliminate financial obstacles and propel our talented, local designers to national and international commercial success, all the while transforming our beautiful city into the world’s next fashion-design capital. “Lofty goals,” you say? Easier said than done? We know we’ve set the bar high, but we’re never scared of a little thing like work.
On a business note, we recently gained the ongoing support of Stella & Dot, a skyrocketing, multimillion-dollar, Bay-Area fashion-jewelry and accessory brand and international vintner Barefoot Bubbly, and we’ve been reviewed in the San Francisco Chronicle, SF Bay Times, Bay Area Reporter, and fresh, new, GLBT magazine Kraven! We also are a proud supporter of local charities such as REAF – The Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation, Under One Roof, and the ACLU – the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California. We’re deeply honored to associated with, and be noticed by, such venerable and benevolent organizations.
Personally, it has been a joy and a thrill for me to guide Runway Couturier through our adventures so far. I can hardly wait to see what happens next! Please be our guest while we find out, won’t you? Thanks. See you on the runway!
– Fritz Lambandrake, Executive Producer
Runway Couturier uses fashion as a bridge between the many culturally diverse and creatively rich communities of the Bay Area and west coast, while producing San Francisco’s ONLY quarterly fashion show, RUNWAY! Featuring Bay Area and west-coast designers, artists, entertainers, and retailers, RUNWAY announces San Francisco as an international fashion-design origination point, and strives to catapult new fashion designers to commercial success, with the ultimate goal of wholesaling and retailing their collections worldwide, while managing garment production specifically in San Francisco.
Runway Couturier also shines the bright light of fashion on San Francisco’s downtown and invites a new wave of brave, entrepreneurial and community-oriented spirit, in cooperation with major schools of fashion design, elected officials, local and national businesses, community organizers, entertainers, and philanthropic organizations.
MISSION
“Give them what they never knew they wanted.”
– Diana Vreeland, Editor-in-Chief, Vogue Magazine - 1963-71
2014-15 CALENDAR of EVENTS
Each show features a runway-contest devoted to new Bay Area fashion designers who compete for a chance to produce their first complete collections absolutely free of charge. At every show, previous winners debut their brand new collections before an enthusiastic crowd of fashionistas, buyers, and members of the press!
WINTER 2014-15 – “RUNWAY: STAR POWER!”
Drawing inspiration from both male and female movie stars, fashion designers will create high-fashion looks worthy of the glitziest, most glamorous red carpet and, at the same time, a brave, fashion-forward step for their assigned superstars.
PRE- FALL, 2014 – “RUNWAY: SUPERHERO!”
Assigned superheroes with unique super-powers for inspiration, each designer will interpret the look, attitude, and abilities of his hero/heroine and translate them into innovative, truly avant garde after-hours looks.
PRE-FALL, 2014 – “RUNWAY: EVER AFTER!”
What happens after the wedding? The honeymoon, of course! Each designer will be assigned both a season and one of many, various honeymoon-resort destinations around the world and then design the perfect honeymoon outfit for their bride or groom.
SUMMER, 2014 – “RUNWAY: SUMMER of LOVE!”
Creating inventive, fashion-forward cocktail attire, designers will channel the attitudes and period clothing styles of famous or infamous lovers, both historical and fictional, such as Antony & Cleopatra, JFK & Marilyn, and Bonnie & Clyde!
