In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Front Cover

Masthead:-Bold and stands out- Grungy looks like it has been printed on- Layered over image

Main Image: I edited my image on photo shop giving it a blurry look compared to the original. It doesn't quite have a picture related theme but the colour of the lights makes it stand out and give it a sort of club/electro theme to it.COLOUR:The colour stands out and is eye catching for the audience bring there attention to it.

Text:- Mostly bold and the colour white to stand out from the background colour red.

Information:- Date, issue and the price of the magazine are on the top left side of the front cover to give the audience useful information. Also on the top right hand corner is the magazines website.

Double Page SpreadImages:I edited the images on Photoshop darkening the colour of the images to make it have a scary sense to it. Also using the colours to

Interview Title:I carried on using the same font as the front cover introducing the band that is being interviewed. I think it is important to carry on there theme because it make it look like a real magazine.

Pull Quote:I have added a pull quote carrying on the tradition with most magazines. I placed it right in the middle of my text which will attract the readers attention before reading the interview.

Language:I have looked at past interview's and I have seen how some magazines depending on the age target of the magazine they display different text including swear est. I tried use young youth wording when I put together my interview otherwise I think it would have sounded boring and not in theme with the magazine and the actual ‘band’

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

-IPC Media:I chose IPC media because of the magazine NME that they produce and that in some what is similar to my magazine. NME are a similar genre of music magazine to mine and have the same target audience of teenagers between the age of 16 onwards.

-Development Hell Limited:Development Hall Limited produce Mix-Mag magazine which I based my music magazine idea on mostly from all magazines. They only produce 2 magazines in total. They are an dependent with there magazines and there target audience for there magazines are mostly 18 plus because Mix-Mag is surrounded by electro / club music and has a lot of information on clubs to go to ect.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full

product?I have learnt a lot of things from my first School magazine to my final Music Magazine.

-I have developed my skills in Photoshop and know a lot more information and different tools that I can use.

- Including features such as the bar code and information like the slug and issue of the magazine make it look more realistic compared to my school magazine.

- I learnt that is important to have drafts so you can on improve on your magazine gradually and get given feed back
