Mr David BOYD, St Peters NSW 2044 For service to art as an innovator of design and techniques in pottery and ceramic sculpture, and as a painter. Pottery and Ceramic Sculpture, 1946-1966: Exhibitions of the work of David and his wife, Hermia Lloyd-Jones, were held in Australia and overseas including London, 1951 and 1953; St Paul-de-Vence, France, 1952; Colchester UK, 1966; Sydney, 1948, 1955, 1958 and 1959; Melbourne, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960 and 1961; as well as in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide during these years. Major exhibition of his ceramic tiles and sculptures was held at the Museum of Modern Art of Australia, Melbourne, 1956. Credited with introducing new techniques in glazing and the use of the potters wheel in shaping sculptural figures.
