Message
I am delighted to know that our mechanical department newsletter is being released. On this gracious occasion, I wish all the best to those who are responsible for bringing out this letter. I congratulate Prof Dr.Y Sesho Rao, HoD, for initiating this newsletter. I wish the same commitment from the entire faculty to do research in an advanced level and bringlaurels.
I congratulate the students who were selected to tournaments and in placements. I wish
all the outgoing students to have a successful career and anticipate that they will sustain
the college name and reputation.
Principal’s Message
I am happy to note that the editorial board brings out newsletter for the period October
to December 2017. It is great to find a considerable number of winners and participants
in co-curricular and extracurricular activities which certainly prove that our staff and
students are adequately equipped and possess necessary skill-sets to bring such laurels to
the institution. In QISCET, the year complemented with the blend of curricular and co-
curricular activities.
I congratulate Mr.SATHISH KUMAR, Assistant .Professor, for getting PhD admission
inVTUBelagavi, Karnataka.I appreciate the faculty members for publishing a good
number of research papers in National and International journals.

Inspiration Column:
Kumar Bhattacharyya
Kumar Bhattacharyya is an Anglo-Indian engineer, educator and government advisor.
He founded the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), an academic department at
the University of Warwick, which provides research, education and knowledge
transfer in engineering, manufacturing and technology. He was made a life peer of
the group in 2004, and serves as a director in WMG. Born in Dhaka in British-India,
he displayed a high level of intelligence from a young age and was brilliant in
studies.
Bhattacharyya studied Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology,
Kharagpur. He moved to Britain in the 1960s where he worked for six years as a
graduate apprentice at Lucas Industries, a large British manufacturing company.
During this time, he studied at the University of Birmingham where he attained an
MSc in Engineering Production and Management and a PhD in Engineering
Production. While completing his PhD at Birmingham, he was appointed as a
Lecturer and began the process of establishing a manufacturing education programme
for industry environment in Britain.
