PREFACEThis guidebook is created according to the Cultural Road MoralCommunity Project for the year 2021, Samut Prakan Province.

To introduce the charm of the community and promote culturaltourism in Samut Prakan province. There are 3 recommendedroutes as follows.

Peakka Floating Market is located in the areaof Panprasittharam Temple. It was establishedin accordance with the principle of "Bowon''to let people who come to make merit at thetemple have a place to rest. The market is rightnext to the canal. There is a cool breezeblowing all day. At the wooden bridge, touristscould get some food, sit down, eating, hanginglegs, and enjoying the view of the watersideof two provinces: Samut Prakan andChachoengsao.

Hua Koo Temple

Hua Koo Temple Moral Community. Here, there is Luang PhorKhiao Sukho Phutthophakhawa, worshiped by people in thearea and nearby areas, a metal Buddha image that Phra ChaoTaksin gave during the rest of the army before moving toChanthaburi. He assigned a soldier named Khiao to take careof the buried assets. Later, after Luang Phor Boon Plookbecoming an abbot, it was restored in 1977 and given thename "Luang Phor Khiao Sukho Phutthophakhawa". LuangPhor Khiao Sukho Phutthophakhawa Blanket Parade traditionis a tradition held on Makha Bucha Day of every year.

Local wisdom that has been inherited in the Hua Koo Templecommunity is, for example, Thai Traditional MassageChiropractor which is believed to be able to treat and relievepain and illness. Banana chips are a community product thatis processed from Kluai Namwa (cultivated bananas) that arewidely grown locally.

Sri Wari Noi Temple

Here, there is Luang Pu ThuatOng Yai, the spiritual anchor of

people in the community.The community is well prepared

for cultural tourism. Touristscould make merit, worship the

Buddha image, and give theofferings to the monks at Sala

Wariraknusorn, the pavilion.There is a floating market which

is open to tourists everySaturday and Sunday. It is

a market along the canal witha shady atmosphere surrounded

by trees. Here, tourists couldget some food and snacks,

enjoy eating at the waterside pavilion,and enjoy tapping line or hammer

massage activities.

Boat trip to templesexploring nature along the canal atan affordable price, only 100 Bahtper person. Local guides will take youby boat to temples, worshipthe Buddha image, make a wishat Pak Khlong Mon Temple,Hua Koo Temple, and visit theoldmarket, Hua Takhe, Lat Krabang.In the evening, tourists could takea rest and relax at the homestay,take photos, and enjoy the tastesof the local food.

Bang Hua Suea Moral Community is the starting point for a recommended travel route.The traveling is convenient for both private cars and skytrain. Get off at Samrong station andtake Songthaew (two-row seated minibus) or a taxi. The entire chapel is decorated with ceramic.The interior is decorated with the stucco art of Buddhaʼs biography. These are considered to bethe charm of the Bang Hua Suea Moral Community.

Ban Bang Duan Moral Community conserves and relies on nature which has plenty of learningresources, including Kan Jaak (Nipa Palm stalk) basket making, tie-dye cloth from Luk Jaakʼs color(Nipa Palm fruitʼs color), leaf plates, kayaking admiring the nature of Khlong Bang Duan, takinga scenic cruise on the Chao Phraya River, visiting Phra Chedi Klang Nam (the pagoda on anisland in the middle of the river), Phi Suea Samut Fort, seagulls migrating during winter sunset,and overnight homestay.

The Ancient Bang Phli Floating Market

is an ancient market along KhlongSamrong, formerly known as “Sirisophon”Market. It is assumed that Chinesetraders firstly opened their shops herein this market around 1857. In the past,it used to be a transportation hub forgoods and passengers from the eastcoast to Bangkok. A distance of nearly1 km. along both sides of KhlongSamrong has been occupied by variousshops selling various kinds of goods,including delicious food, desserts,household decoration items,local products, as well as,clothing shops, etc.

When the tourists cycling from Bang Nam Phueng Nokalong the route, youʼre invited to worship the Buddhaimage and make merit at Bang Nam Phueng Nai Templeand visit Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market.The giving alms with honey tradition is a tradition thathas been inherited for a long time. It is held on theBuddhist Holy Day 15th Day of the Waxing Moon inthe 10th Month of every year. People giving alms to themonks with honey at Bang Nam Phueng Nok Temple andBang Nam Phueng Nai Temple, Amphoe Phra Pradaeng.It is believed that by doing this, merit-makers will havea high virtue. Monks could store honey for medicinalpurposes as honey is an ingredient in many importantancient medicines.

A distance of 2 km. long has been filled withvarious types of products includinghomegrown vegetables which are safe andgrown without toxic as the local people growthese vegetables themselves. It is suitable forpeople who like to buy some ingredientsand bring them back for cooking. Also, thereare flowering plants, ornamental plants,and sacred plants. Bang Nam PhuengFloating Market is surrounded by nature.Although Samut Prakan has transformedinto an industrial city, this floating marketis still an oasis where people come to takefresh air, absorb the comfortable greenenvironment, enjoy the way of life of thelocal people along the waterside. Khun Samut Chin

A recommended place for overnight stay. Khun Samut Chin Moral Community, Khun Samut ChinTemple, is an old temple by the sea that has been eroded and surrounded by seawater until itlooks like a temple in the middle of the sea. The temple is shady with the nature of the mangroveforest. A cool sea breeze blows all day long. Calm atmosphere suitable for mind relaxing. To get here,you could take a boat from Pa Li Pier for about 10 minutes or you could travel by private car.
