FOREWORD
Biotechnology is now an established discipline showing its own impacts in various facets of
human life. Since its emergence, students of Biotechnology played an important role in the
development of Biotechnology in India. To fulfill the needs of M.Sc. Biotechnology aspirant students,
the book MCQs for M.Sc. Biotechnology Entrance Examinations by Dr. Vishal P. Deshmukh,
Dr. Varsha V. Deshmukh, Dr. Vivek R. Narkhedkar and Dr. Prashant V. Thakare is a welcome effort.
The students preparing for M.Sc. Biotechnology needs to go through almost all branches of Life
Sciences. To cope up with this need, authors have devised their own questions covering most
important topics which is the beauty of this book. To provide wide experience of examination patterns,
latest solved question papers of top Indian Universities are also provided. Authors have substantial
experience in teaching and research as well writing books for competitive examinations.
I applaud Dr. Vishal P. Deshmukh, Dr. Varsha V. Deshmukh, Dr. Vivek R. Narkhedkar and
Dr. Prashant V. Thakare for bringing such innovative book. I am very sure that this book will be
widely accepted among students.
I extend my best wishes to authors for the success of this book.

PREFACE
We are bringing out this book for the students who aspire to appear for M.Sc. Biotechnologyentrance examinations conducted by universities and institutions like IIT-JAM, JNU, TIFR, AIEEA-PG, CU-CET, BHU, NCBS and the top Universities across India.
Considering the diverse pattern of examinations conducted by the various Universities andInstitutions, we have prepared a comprehensive Question bank of more than 1200 MCQs with answers. We have also provided some entrance examination preparation strategies. These MCQs, distributed in12 chapters, in the Part A of book covering a wide spectrum of possible questions, most probably willbe asked in M.Sc. Biotechnology entrance examinations.
The most exciting, demarcating and vital part of the book is the Part B. This part contains latestyear question papers collected from the various top reputed Universities and Institutions of differentstates of India with their correct answer keys. This unique collection of question papers from differentUniversities of India will help the students to have great collection of divert MCQs. This will also helpthem to know the trends or pattern of questions asked in various Universities’ M.Sc. Biotechnologyentrance examinations.
Besides it will also help the students to know about various Universities offering this programmein different states of India, so that they can also apply for other Universities besides parent Universityonly. The book serves as a vital handbook for M.Sc. Biotechnology entrance examinations as far asobjective pattern is concerned. We feel satisfied if the book serves the purpose for which it is intended.
Our most sincere thanks to Dr. Durgesh Borse, Assistant Professor, Department of English,GVISH, Amravati for critically reviewing the book details and helping to improve the book content.
