PROMOTION PARTY August 6th is Promotion Sunday for Phillip Jaynes and
other 7th graders. The youth will be having a party that
night at 5:00 in the Youth Room to celebrate his joining
our group. We cannot wait for the opportunity to add
another member to our ranks and grow in friendship
with him while sharing more of God's word and His gifts
with each other. If you know any other youth who have
been out of touch for a while, this is the perfect time to
invite them to come back! ———————————
THE GATHERING TOUR The youth will be taking the bus to attend The Gathering
Tour at Madison UMC on August 27th at 5:30 pm. This is
the traveling version of the yearly weekend youth confer-
ence. We will be attending a high energy night with per-
formances from Big Al, magician Todd Smith, and music
to celebrate our Lord and Savior. There will be amazing
worship and a lot of fun to generate excitement for the
Gathering next February. We will be coming together with
hundreds of other teens as one body to celebrate our
God.
———————————
CABIN TRIP The youth had an incredible weekend at Ben and Patsy
Rogers’ cabin. We spent the days immersed in nature,
enjoying the spectacular world that God created for us
by hiking through Red Bluff and kayaking down the Oka-
toma River. We spent our nights growing closer as a
group and getting to know each other better through
playing board games, grilling delicious food, and laugh-
ing through the night. In the end, we all were so thankful
to God for giving us the opportunity to be a part of some-
thing so beautiful and fun. We want to give a special
thanks to the Rogers for letting us use their fantastic
cabin and for cooking breakfast for us. We also want to
send out a special thanks to Lori and Richard Smithhart
for accompanying us on this journey. Without them this
trip would not have been possible.

Studies book. In August, we will study Calls in the New
Testament, from the book of Acts of the Apostles.

SUMMER IN THE PSALMS
Some of us will vacation near palm trees this summer,
others simply will dream of palms and oceans. All of us
have the opportunity to spend time summering in the
book of Psalms. This collection of prayers and hymns
can teach us a lot about what it means to really talk with
and really listen to God. There’s no pretend stuff here,
just real people connecting with our real God. Come
experience Summer in the Psalms at 10:55 am worship
through August.

BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY
SEPTEMBER 17TH
We hope everyone will make a special effort to attend
church and invite a friend on Sunday, September 17th,
for our annual Back to Church Sunday. Churches across
Pearl will be participating!
We are having a special service specifically designed to
welcome people back to church, so now is a good time
to start praying about who you will invite.
Eight out of ten people say they are open to visiting
church if invited. That’s powerful! Imagine how our
community can be transformed if everyone here invited
at least one person to come to church.
A potluck lunch will follow worship on September 17th.
COME JOIN IN THE
TASTY FUN AND
FELLOWSHIP!
