Flooded Roadway Response Program
The Beginning…• Started in 1999• Goal: Get crews to flooded crossings
before or as quickly after flooding as possible
• 48 at-grade road crossings currently being monitored
• MCDOT TMC & FCD ALERT monitor notifications and share information during an event
• Cost shared 50/50 on additional ALERT Stations

What do they look like?
How do they work?• Lights can be activated by an ALERT
sensor– Stream gage– Status sensor
• Sends periodic “alive” data, can send an intrusion alarm if cabinet is opened
• Can be turned on/off by ALERT Staff • Notification sent to MCDOT
Future
• Added a new crossing location on Aguila Farm Channel (Centennial Wash) as part of the Aguila FRP
• Install more Automated Flooded Roadway Warning Assemblies
