MBMMBI
TO UPHOLD BAHASA MALAYSIA AND TO STRENGTHEN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE
INTRODUCTION
The implement of MBMMBI to replace PPSMI.- result of UPSR, PMR, SPM and STPM showed that the achievement in BM higher than in English.- the result showed that students would do better if Science and Math were taught in BM.- the gap in achievement between schools in the urban and rural areas in Science and Math during implementation of PPSMI.
DEFINITION
To uphold Bahasa Malaysia• As the national language.• Main medium of instruction based on
Education Act of 1996.
To strengthen English language• To enhance the command of compulsory

Back to basics strengthening the basics( listening, reading
and writing) for language learning is done in a structured and systematic.
the teaching and learning of the language are based on the correct usage of the language .

The use of standard BM across curriculum The correct use of the language in other
subjects will use BM as medium of instruction.
The use of dialect must be monitored.
ICT in teaching & learning A portal will be created to gather all
written materials and serve as forum.
Reading programme KOMSAS, NILAM and primary school literature

Quality BM teachers teachers who teach this subject must be BM
optioned to ensure quality from the pedagogical aspects.
Teachers attend courses to enhance their professionalism and learn about the latest development in the areas of language and pedagogy from local and foreign experts.

ensure quality from the pedagogical aspects.
