Admissions and Entry Requirements

Admissions and Entry Requirements to MBA Information Technology Management

Applicants must be able to meet the following requirements as a condition of entry onto Coventry University’s MBA programmes.

An applicant to be considered for the MBA Engineering Management Programme must normally be expected to possess at least the following:

2nd class honours degree or equivalentAt least two (2) years work experience following graduationStudents who do not possess the above requirements but have substantial work experience will be considered on an individual basis.

Applicants whose fi rst language is not English or whose previous qualifi cation was not taught and assessed in English must provide evidence of attainment in English Language by achieving an IELTS score of at least 6.5 or an equivalent qualifi cation.

Course StructureAll of the named award routes are designed as variants of the parent generalist MBA programme. They will each address the overall programme aim (above) in providing an integrated understanding of operational and strategic issues in management, and a range of appropriate supporting skills.

English LanguageRequirements

English Language Requirements

All Postgraduate programmes require students whose English is not their fi rst language or where their undergraduate studies were not conducted or assessed in the medium of English, to have achieved an IELTS score of 6.5, AIMT English for International Students Certifi cate or equivalent upon entry to their chosen programme.

It is vitally important that students are able to express their ideas clearly and communicate with other students drawn from a wide range of nationalities. Reading and writing skills are equally important.

Therefore, English profi ciency is a vital pre-condition for personal success in all the postgraduate programmes and the wider world of work.

AIMT English for International Students Programme

Aims & Learning Objectives:The programme is aimed at non-native speakers who wish to attain a general profi ciency in English, equipping them with relevant and appropriate communicative skills as well as a pathway to developing and strengthening their English language ability in preparation for their specialized fi eld of study.

Content:The frequent change of topics based on the four skills keep students interested, focusing on a student-centered vocabulary and grammar presentations, which anchors learning and promotes active learning.

Students will continuously engage in role-play activities, reading and writing based on both knowledge and practical activities thus enabling students to apply in real life situations.

English Course Structure:

Level 1 BasicLevel 2 ElementaryLevel 3 IntermediateLevel 4 AdvancedLevel 5 Professional Business English

The duration is 11 weeks for each level of the English course that runs every term (January, April, July, October). Students undertaking the English courses are charged a fee in addition to their fees for their chosen postgraduate programme.
