A note from Conestoga High School, November School Spirit Award recipients: Conestoga Public School wanted to let the NSAA and Pump & Pantry know how we used a large portion of our award gift card for being the School Spirit Award recipient for November. This past weekend, three of our students and a sponsor were part of the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions in Denver, and the gift card was used for fuel and travel expenses along the way. Our students had a tremendous experience participating in this national event. We felt this was an excellent use for the gift card, as it extended and enhanced the activities program in an NSAA-represented activity. On behalf of Conestoga Jr-Sr High School, thank you for recognizing us. As our school song says, “Spirit never dies at Cougar High”. MATS TIRE GIVEAWAY At the Boss Shop booth at the Mid-America Trucking Show, visitors could register to win a set of tires. Here is one of the tire giveaway winners, Larry Davis from South Bend, IN!

The Danger had a tough run to end the regular season, losing eight straight games. However, since the top three teams from the Intense Conference advance to the playoffs, the Danger made the cut. They traveled to Billings on July 9th for the first round of the playoffs and came out with a 64-52 victory. Now they will advance to the Intense Conference Championship versus the Spokane Empire, whom they lost a tight game to at home, 25-23, earlier in the season. That game will be Sunday, July 17th at 6 p.m. CST. The Danger must also win that game to move on to face the United Conference Champions in the United Bowl.

I found myself stranded thousands of miles from home at the gas pump of a truck stop somewhere in Missouri. My truck will not start. Traveling alone, blonde, and without the knowledge of how to start this diesel truck, I sent out on a quest for help. My long and treacherous journey took me across the big black sea looking for someone who could help. The heavens opened up and revealed the boss shop. I navigate it through and around the big rigs, and the found my way to the most cheerful and helpful people I will meet this day. The woman behind the counter was nothing but smiles. With the back of my hand pressed against my tilted back forehead, I told her my story of hopelessness and despair. The sweet kind soul went to find the person that would soon save my day. From the back of the shop emerges the knight in shining armor. His name is Michael and he was eager and willing to help this damsel in distress. We mounted and rode off through the black Sea to my broken down truck. Michael’s sarcasm and humor was perfect to help lighten the stress of feeling stranded. Upon a quick examination of my vehicle, Michael discovered there was a major problem with my truck but was confident he could get it started. He sent me on a quest to find ether. When I returned, this brave and courageous man had taken it upon himself to check the fluids of my vehicle. He took the ether and, with precise timing and calculations, Michael delicately pressed the nozzle on that can and had my truck up and running in a matter of seconds. Because of this selfless and courageous man I was able to complete my cross country trip just in time to find a cure for cancer and global warming. The selfless act helped save the world. Thank you Michael, smiley lady and everyone at Boss Shop.

Hi, I just wanted to let you guys know that you have some amazing workers at your travel center. I recently passed through there about month ago and met Tyson, (I don’t know his last name, volunteer fire fighter etc.) But he is such a life saver!! Tyson went way above and beyond his job duties to help me and my father after we were stranded because of vehicle issues. Tyson gave us numbers for places that would help with our vehicle. We wound up needing to

be at Uhaul by a specific time or we would have been stranded in Nebraska and not made our flight in Denver, CO. Tyson took the time to take us to Uhaul so we could get our rental and be back on the road. He was so kind and had such a wonderful personality I wanted to find some way to thank him for his generosity. Even this mention is not enough for what he did. It is people like Tyson that make this world a better place to live in!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

I have to take a few moments out this morning to say again a special THANK YOU for a job well done! On May 16th, we were traveling from Nashville towards home (PA) and looked under the hood of our 38 Buick street rod and found a broken alternator bracket. The only thing I thought to fix it would be to weld it and stopped in your shop to see if it would be possible to have done. You immediately pulled a guy from another job and had him weld it, which put me back in business. Everyone involved was very courteous and helpful. We got back home in good shape...alternator and bracket working well! You treated us as well as one of your regular customers. It is always an unknown when you break down along the road while traveling. You guys get a GOLD STAR! Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Susan had work done in the Gretna Shop on 6/12/16 and 6/14/16. She was very impressed with the whole shop. She stated everyone who worked in that shop was nice, professional, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to help her out. Susan experiences a lot of bad treatment by other repair shop due to being a female in the long haul business, but not at Gretna. When the techs were showing her their work, they did it in a way that made her feel good. They also answered any questions without making her feel bad for asking. Susan and her company were so pleased with the work and treatment from this shop that they are going to bring their units from Ozark to Gretna, NE for repairs and maintenance from now on. She also asked to be transferred to the shop to schedule more work.
