Once again the lockdown got extended and I was getting bored of trying new things everyday. Then one day, Rotary Mahanagar organized a quiz game which was great fun to play. The participants had to guess logos, taglines, songs, dialogues etc. We had to be quick in responding as the first to answer was the winner. The entire quiz took 1 hour but it changed my mood. I am so glad I participated in this fun quiz and am waiting to participate in more such games soon. I would like to thank Rtn. The Twin Heart MeditationRotary Club of Calcutta Mahanagar organised a Meditation Session on the 10th of May – Mother's Day. Ann. Saroj Shah – a Pranic Healing Instructor conducted the session. The session started with a discussion on 'Letting Go'. Letting go of negative emotions of stress and anxiety etc. There was a healthy discussion and highlight on the reasons for not being able to let go, the benefits of letting go and, tips on how to let go – a small practical exercise

in which we were guided to let go of the negativities. The highlight was the 'Twin Hearts Meditation' which was just explained with a PowerPoint and then the Mahanagar enjoyed the blissful meditation. And very apt for Mother's Day celebration all the meditation has tremendous energies for Mother Earth. It was super blissful session and meditation with members feeling calm and regenerated by the end.It was attended by large number of members.Report By: Saroj Shah

Lockdown due to Covid does not deter the Mahanagarians to have an RWM! We had a Zoom RWM on 8th May 2020, (Rabindra Jayanti) with 34 members joining online. We also had a special guest Ms Nancy Barbie - our International Global Grants partner who joined in from the US. At the onset, the incoming President Pranay Agarwal introduced the Board for the year 20-21.

Pay ing Shradhanja l i to Nobel Laureate Shri Rabindranath Tagore, we witnessed a musical video starring our very own spouses! Based on Tagore's famous song “Aaguner Poroshmoni”, it was very well coordinated with video recordings from each one's home.

The guest speaker for the evening was RJ Arvind who has risen to fame in the radio circuit due to his show “Jhakaas Mornings” on 94.3 Radio FM. Rtn Manish Biyani introduced RJ Arvind and mentioned that Arvind has a strong knowledge of Bollywood Retro music and this is what sets his show apart and makes it so popular. Mahanagar decided to dedicate this RWM to the heroes Rishi Kapoor and Irfan Khan whose recent untimely demise has left a void in the hearts of millions of fans. RJ Arvind shared many interesting and unheard of anecdotes about Rishi Kapoor. He also narrated incidents from Irfan Khan's famous movie 'Do Donnie Char'. The discussion moved on the current lockdown situation and our Guest Nancy Barbie was sharing the grace situation in her country due to the Covid pandemic. Arvind also told us about his helpful gesture of delivering medicines from pharmacies to senior citizens in the area where he lives. The meeting ended with motivation to come out even stronger after the lockdown. It was wonderful to connect online with all fellow Rotarians and we look forward to more such meetings till the lockdown ends and we can resume the usual meetings. Report By: Aparna Biyani

CALCUTTA MAHANAGAR HELD VIA ZOOM ON 8TH OF MAY 2020

Ÿ The president Welcomed all the Members and Spouse to the Rotary Weekly Meeting No. 1263 on Zoom.

Ÿ President Rtn Vinod Mahipal announced it as a special meeting dedicated to Rabindranath Tagore's Birthday Anniversary.

Ÿ Spouse Seema Somani recited a poem written by the great Poet.

Ÿ A spectacular video made for the occasion by more than 15 Spouses and Members of the club was shown.

Ÿ Special Guest Rtn. Nancy Barbee, our International Project Partner from Rotary Club of Maysville , USA was welcomed by the Presidents at the Meeting.

Ÿ The President Invited President Elect Rtn. Pranay Agarwal to Introduce the Board for Rotary Year 2020-21.

Ÿ Incoming President Rtn Pranay Agarwal introduced the New Board through a Video.

Ÿ Vice President welcomed the Guest Speaker RJ Arvind of Radio 94.3Fm .

Ÿ The Session was very well moderated by Rtn Manish Biyani and Guest Speaker RJ Arvind.

Ÿ Guest speaker shared his experience of the Lockdown and his Interactions and Memories with the recently deceased Bollywood Film stars Late Rishi Kapoor and Irfan Khan.

Ÿ The Members enjoyed the session and songs were sung by the guest speaker with a special mention of a song sung by Aparna Biyani .

Ÿ The meeting ended in a very happy note by Vote of thanks proposed by Club Secretary Rtn. Ashok Agarwal.

Ÿ There being no other business, President terminated the meeting.
