    Yoga Hikes are a strengthening, active, and “zenned out” way to have a toning experience while becoming one with nature. Yoga Hikes explore Urbana’s nature trails and typically have three yoga toning stops along the way. Yoga Hikes are led by certified yoga & fitness instructor Lola Pittenger, who will keep you moving, help you advance your yoga practice, and encourage you to connect in gratitude with the natural world. Yoga Hikes at Busey Woods will meet in front of the Anita Purves Nature Center.

    Meet the InstructorEmily SawlawEmily is certified through The Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and Yoga Fit. She has been teaching group exercise and personal training for 15 years. She enjoys adding water fitness into her teaching regiment. Emily says, “I love that anyone can participate and get the class you want out of it. Water fitness is a full body workout that you can use to get a cardiovascular workout using the water. Using equipment can also sculpt those muscles and give a great resistance workout.” Emily teaches Aquajog at the Crystal Lake Park Family Aquatic Center. She considers Aquajog a great alternative or addition to anyone’s exercise program because it is low impact and great on the joints. Emily adds, “I’m incredibly blessed to be able to be a part of people’s lives and their exercise journey. My life is even more enriched with friendships , people’s stories of Weight loss, getting ready for an event in life, or overcoming something. To be able to be a positive impact somehow in those stories

    and with the people I meet along the way is truly a blessing! I look forward to seeing everyone at the pool--here is to great weather and a great workout! Don’t forget the sunscreen.

    Housework Avoidance Ride: (40-60 miles, 16-18 mph) (40-60 miles, 16-18 mph) This ride will offer several options ranging from 40-60 miles and meander through some of the more challenging roads in the area at a quick, but not anaerobic clip. Those on longer rides should expect a lunch stop at a small-town restaurant.
