Cover StoryCongratulations to the following seniors who will be joining the military: Trinity Burklow, Brandon Burr, Cale Curtis, Robert Dugger, Lori Kelly, Thomas Lee, Joseph Nguyen, Emily Rea and Eric Wright. A military signing day was held April 20, on Fr. Emil Kapaun’s birthday, the school’s namesake.

These 2021 graduates will join the approximately 60 alumni who are currently in active duty. We are very proud of our men and women alumni protecting our freedoms and civil liberties, just like Fr. Kapaun did. The graduates’ photos, name and rank will be added to the Wall of Honor, permanently installed a few years ago. The display prominently featured in the walkway between the main academic hall of the school and the Commons so the students at KMC will pass it every day. We hope it will be a reminder to all of the sacrifice, pride and legacy of our military alumni.

More information about our alumni military can be found on our website, Kapaun.org, under the Alumni tab.

If you or someone you know is a KMC alumnus in active duty, guard or reserve, please email a photo to Chris Graf at [email protected] and include the name, KMC graduation year, branch of service, current rank, and current station. We would prefer to have their portrait head shot in uniform but if that is not available, any photo in their uniform can be sent in.

In future phases of the Wall of Honor, we plan to add recognition for our veterans, living and deceased. We hope to honor all our alumni who have served in the military, current or past.

Happy May! There are two more months left in the 2020-21 Crusader Annual Fund. Thank you so much to the parents who have already donated this year. Current parent giving is at $137,162 with a little less than 50 percent participating. That’s an average gift of more than $520! That’s really incredible and will make such a difference to our students.

As exciting as that is, overall, we are still $30,000 short of our goal. If the parents who haven’t donated were to give even $100 toward their student’s education, we would nearly reach our goal! Wouldn’t that be an awesome example of coming together for the greater good? We are asking every parent to donate what they can toward their student’s future.

Whether it is $10, $100 or $1,000, your financial sacrifice shows that you and other KMC parents support your child’s Catholic education. The monthly installment payments are still a popular way to make a big impact without breaking the bank. Our fiscal year ends on June 30, 2021, and all donations up to that point will be included in our annual report.

Leadership ListThank you to the following KMC Parents who have donated to the 2020-21 Annual Fund through May 1, 2021:
