7) Senior Class Pays It ForwardIn 2010, the senior class established a new tradition at Marymountwhen they decided that the funds raised through their Senior ClassGift campaign would be used to establish the Pay It ForwardScholarship fund. Under this plan, every $500 raised by the seniorclass would provide a scholarship for a member of the next fall’sincoming freshman class. This year’s seniors raised more than $1,900 for the Pay it Forward Scholarship fund. The Senior ClassGift Committee – consisting of Asia Cunningham, Hallie Houts, Marissa McGrath, and KritishmaShrestha – worked diligently throughout the year to publicize the campaign and raise funds. A sincerethank you to all the seniors who donated!

8) Small Gifts, Big ImpactDo you remember the moment that defined your Marymount experience? Whether you studied abroad, volunteered through CMA, served as a student leader, had a great internship, or played a sport, youhave memories that will last the rest of your life and maybe even a few that changed the course of yourlife.

Now is your chance to provide the same opportunities for today’s students – people like LuisFernandez, who is majoring in communication with a minor in social entrepreneurship. Luis traveled toBelize last summer with a group of MU students majoring in biology, sociology, and video production totake part in a collaborative project focused on the endangered Hawksbill sea turtle. Luis was hesitant tosign up when he first heard about the program, but now he says, “It was a onceinalifetime, eyeopening experience.” He hopes to return to Belize as an intern after he graduates.

Luis is just one example of the many MU students whose lives have been touched by the generosity ofMarymount donors.
