The Spring Series kicked off last month and, as you probably noticed, we have not been wanting for wind. If you are not racing in the spring series, but want to get out on the water, this is the time to do it. If you are new to sailing or just haven't sailed in a while, David Dixon is available for lessons, and would be more than happy to help you rig up a boat. The pool is now open on weekends and will be open this Friday night for a Cinqo de Mayo themed First Friday. Chuck and Christy Rushing are planning the event, and I'm pretty sure this one will be memorable. Bring the family out for an afternoon sail or dip in the pool, then join us for what is sure to be a big party. The pool will be open until 9pm, and several piñata’s are waiting to be bludgeoned open by the kids. If you have not signed your children up for Summer Camp or Learn-to-Sail, yet, you need to give Bo a call in the office. Spaces are filling up fast and a few sessions are nearly full. I can't tell you how many members I talk to that tell me how much fun they had spending summers sailing when they were kids. BYSC's summer programs will be one of your children's best memories and will also help them develop skills and confi- dence to safely enjoy the water for the rest of their lives. Thanks to everyone that participated in the camp survey. With 108 responses, it was a great help in planning this year’s camp. 69% percent of you graded camp either “above average” or “excellent”, while 84.5% said your children will be returning. Feedback received via the “comments” section of the survey were very helpful and have been incorporated into camp. Hope to see you out at the club or out on the water!
