The Annual Catholic Appeal Campaign
supports over 60 ministries and services in the Archdiocese. The 2018
campaign is underway and we are seeking everyone’s participation
this year so that we reach our goal of $35,823 as quickly as possible!
If you have already made your gift to the Appeal, thank you! If not,
please return your pledge envelope today or donate online - the web
address is on the pledge envelopes located in the pew.
Thank you!
The Ascension of Our Lord,
which occurred 40 days after Jesus Christ rose from the dead on Easter, is the final act of our redemption that Christ began on Good Friday. On this day, the risen Christ, in the sight of His
apostles, ascended bodily into Heaven.
Forty days after Easter Sunday (though, in many ecclesiastical provinces of the United States, the celebration is transferred to the following Sunday). Learn the dates of both Ascension Thursday and Ascension Sunday in this and future years.
Grant, we beseech Thee, almighty God, that we who believe Thine only-begotten Son, our Redeemer, to have this day ascended into heaven, may dwell in spirit amid heavenly things. Through the same Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen.
High School Camping Retreat May 25-27
Registration is now open for a CAMPING RETREAT with the Confirmation Group at Fr. Wagner’s previous parishes of St. John (Montesano) and St. Joseph (Elma). It is property of their confirmation teacher, Julia Fogassy (and her husband Karl), who live on a spacious land in Montesano surrounded by a river and trees. A Permission Slip must be completed.
THERE IS NO COST FOR YOUR TEEN TO ATTEND!
This will be camping weekend, in tents, so sleeping bags and mats will be needed. An outhouse will be present, but no showers: bathing is limited to washing in the river while wearing bathing suits. If you need help with these items, let me know and we can figure something out. There will be many different activities, including archery, hiking, campfires/cookouts, and possibly star gazing, along with living our faith through talks, reflections and Mass with their parish priest, Fr. Charles Banduku. I will be working on a packing list and will get that out to you as soon as I know your teen is registered.
The teens from St. John and St. Joseph also knew and loved Fr. Wagner. This is a camping retreat he was greatly desiring for the teens at Visitation and Holy Rosary to participate in, and was looking forward to coming out for an evening. With everything that has happened between Ash Wednesday, Easter and including today, I have not gotten you this information sooner, and I apologize.
If your teen is interested in going, please let me know as soon as possible so that
arrangements for food and transportation can begin being arranged. If you are able to help
out with transportation, please also let me know. You can contact me at the Parish Office.

for those whose suffering is
known only to God.
All Military and their families.
Almighty and Eternal God, You are
the everlasting health of those who
believe in You. Hear us for Your sick
servants for whom we implore the
aid of Your tender mercy, that being
restored to bodily health, he (she)
may give thanks to You in Your

Amen.
In many ways, the battle between the
culture of life and the culture of death
is a battle over mothers, and how we
understand their role in God’s plan.
Let us pray and renew our resolve to
strengthen, bless, and thank all mothers
as they embrace the awesome vocation
of accepting and nurturing new life.
We pray for all mothers to realize the
greatness of their vocation and have the
strength to live it without fear.
Enable them to give themselves to their
children and to experience the joys of
motherhood

“The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the heart of a
mother,” said Saint Therese of Lisieux.
Only a mother knows the depth of her love for her children. She is a beautiful reflection of God’s
love for us. Each soul was created by Him, and is His child.
O God, Thou didst raise Thy servant
Fr. Michael Wagner to the sacred priesthood
of Jesus Christ, according to the Order of
Melchisedeck, giving him the sublime power
to offer the Eternal Sacrifice to bring the Body
and Blood, of Thy Son, Jesus Christ down
upon the altar, and to absolve the sins of men
in Thine own Holy Name. We beseech Thee to
reward him his faithfulness and to forget his
faults, admitting him speedily into Thy Holy
Presence, there to enjoy the recompense of his
labors. This we ask through
Jesus Christ Thy Son, our Lord. Amen
Thank You Lord, for the time we shared with
Fr. Michael Wagner. Let YOUR Perpetual Light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
