Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Ball left for the city yesterday to a ttend the eighth annual reunion and luncheon of the Veterans of the Central Pacific Railroad, to commorate the fortieth anniversary of the driving of the last spike a t Promontory. JJt The Balls will re turn home Monday.

T he beuefit dance last S a tu rday evening was a com plete success. Arts and C rafts H all, which was generosly offered free of charge, was crowded as it seldom has been. T he floor was filled with dancers all even ing th e m usic was sp lend id ; th e decorations were artistic , and the refreshm ents excellent. I t was well m anaged in every re sp ec t; in all ways a d e ligh tfu l affair, and th e net p ro ceeds tu rned over to th e fund reached the im pressive to tal.of $80. In the language of th e day,' it was some dance.
