This is to notify for information of all concerned that the Executive Councilin its Meeting held on 28.06.2016 vide its' Resolution No.EC-2016(II):3.44 hasapproved the amendment in Para 12 of Ordinance 15 (XV) [Academic] captioned"The University Examinations: General Guidelines" with regard to time limit forpassing an examination, except B.Arch and B.D.S., in the light of UGC guidelineson "determination of a uniform span period within which a student may be allowedto, qualify for a degree" on the recommendation of the University's AcademicCouncil vide its meeting held on 08.03.2016 [Resolution No.AC-2016(I):9].

The amended Ordinance 15 (XV) [Academic] as approved would now beread as shown in the Annexure.

Provided that the University maygrant a student further extensionof one year to take theexamination in exceptional cases,on case to case basis, beyond theaforesaid maximum period.

Provided further that, in arriving atany such decision, the University

. shall-take into account the followingexceptional circumstances asevidencing the bonafide inability ofthe student to complete the coursewithin the prescribed period,

1. Pursuit of excellence insports, . performing arts,literary arts and sciencesespecially at national andinternational level (whereschedule of events are suchas to merit exception).

2. Entrepreneurial pursuits(where students drop out toestablish successful start-upsand then wish to re-join andcomplete their education).

3. Medical emergency includingaccidents directly affectingthe student/spouse/parentsonly.

4. Pregnancy of the femalecandidate (s).

5. Any other relevant factor mayalso be taken into account.
