Please open the following link, it will open an HTW login page, the page will look exactly similar but might be a German version, you will find English version in this installation guide with German language screenshots wherever necessary. Login with your student ID and password

After Successful login you will be redirected to the following page, where there is a list of the software for HTW students, click MATLAB from the list

You will be redirected here, and then click More about MATLAB


You will be directed to this page, when you click more about MATLAB. Please find English as well as German version of the page attached


These are the terms and conditions to install MATLAB, read them carefully and click on Accept from the bottom of the page.



Before installing the software, you will need a MathWorks account. You will be redirected to the following page when you click ‘Accept’. Find the word register (with arrow next to it) which will take you to the MathWorks website to create your account.


You will be asked for your email Address to register, Put your HTW Email address to the field along with password and the necessary information about yourself, check the box at bottom which says I accept online service agreements and click ‘Create’.




You will be redirected to this page when you create account successfully. Click on Download, to download the software you need.

Depending on your laptop choose the correct option from available downloads.

For example, for windows this file will be downloaded.


When you double click it will unzip the file and start installation wizard

Choose the first option Log in with a MathWorks Account


Read the agreement and check the box Yes at the bottom then click next,


For next you will be redirected to a page, which will ask you for your registered email address and password, fill it and click next

In the next part there will be a license selected from your account, click next


Provide the path where you want to Install MATLAB, by default a path is there.

Select the softwares you require (for now we are choosing MATLAB) and click next


As per your convenience, choose the accessibility of MATLAB shortcut

You will receive the installation confirmation for the selected product and it will start downloading.


Once the download is complete you will receive notification for installation completion. Click on next and then in next Tab click on Activate MATLAB and click next.


On clicking next you will Activation Process information, after reading it and click next


Next tab you will be asked for your personal computer’s User Name, (here it is a windows example)


After clicking next, the specified user gets the License activated for his use.

Finally, you will receive a notification for Activation of the license completion.


You have successfully installed MATLAB on your laptop, click on the desktop icon or the icon in the start menu, it will open MATLAB software as follows
